Chapter 441

โ€œKieran, you there?โ€

Roseโ€™s voice floated through the closed door.

Then his five-year-old son chimed in: โ€œDaddy, hurry! So many guests outside!โ€

Kieran gave a low acknowledgment before turning to leave.

The door opened to Rose smiling up at him, linking their arms: โ€œKieran, letโ€™s go. Grandpa and the guests are waiting.โ€

Kieran nodded, extending a hand toward Qi Yuan.

Qi Yuan beamed, darting over to grab his fatherโ€™s hand and wedging himself between Kieran and Rose. He seized Roseโ€™s hand with his free one.

โ€œMommy, Daddy, down we go!โ€

Rose glanced down with a soft laugh before meeting Kieranโ€™s eyes, her smile warm and content.

Unlike the sparse gathering in the villaโ€™s courtyard, the living room buzzed with people. Luckily, the vast space easily accommodated the crowd.

As Alarieka and Shi Yao entered, dozens of eyes turned their way. Though gazes held complexity, smiling faces approached: โ€œPresident Shen, remember me?โ€

Alarieka Huston curled her lips: โ€œOf course I remember.โ€ She recognized most people in the living roomโ€“after all, many here had once trampled her underfoot.

โ€œMr. Chen Zhen just told us how well youโ€™ve thrived in the capital, Alarieka. With Harmony Groupโ€™s momentum, everyone respects you now.โ€

โ€œAlarieka, I was blind before. If I ever said anything offensive, I hope youโ€™ll forgive me. Let me toast you.โ€

Alarieka took the wine glass from the servant but didnโ€™t sip, watching the speaker drain his cup. Only after he finished did she smile: โ€œI drove here tonight. Canโ€™t drink.โ€

The man nodded understandingly: โ€œOf course! Just as you wish.โ€

The room froze. News of Alariekaโ€™s arrival had spread through the Argentโ€™s villa instantly. Everyone knew sheโ€™d arrived by taxi.

Some guests exchanged dark looks.

A womanโ€™s sarcastic voice cut through: โ€œAlariekaโ€™s too successful to bother with us now, huh? But donโ€™t get cocky. When trouble hits, donโ€™t come crawling back.โ€

Several others nodded in agreement.

Alarieka stared at the speaker, silent.

The woman frowned under her gaze: โ€œWhatโ€™re you looking at?โ€

Alariekaโ€™s lips curved: โ€œYuan Yuan Zhao? From the Zhao family?โ€

Yuan Yuanโ€™s eyes widened: โ€œYou forgot me?โ€

โ€œHardly.โ€ Alariekaโ€™s smile sharpened: โ€œI remember you vividly. That time in the company cafeteriaโ€“you dumped food on me, accused me of bumping you, and forced an apology.โ€

All eyes snapped to Yuan Yuan, whose face paled. Shi Yaoโ€™s expression darkened again.

Alariekaโ€™s voice cooled: โ€œWonder if you recall?โ€

Yuan Yuan gritted her teeth: โ€œAncient history! Youโ€™ve confused me with someone else!โ€

Alarieka scoffed, returning her glass to the servantโ€™s tray: โ€œHowโ€™ve you been these years? Heard your fatherโ€™s under investigationโ€“detained recently?โ€

Yuan Yuan stiffened: โ€œYouโ€“Alariekaโ€“โ€ Her vision suddenly went dark.

โ€œWhat?โ€ Yuan Yuanโ€™s pupils trembled.

The man before Alarieka hadnโ€™t spoken all evening, yet his face and physique spoke louder than words, drawing every gaze. His silence had seemed harmless. No one expected him to step forward nowโ€“shielding Alarieka, head lowered, eyes stormy. Even in a suit, his towering frame revealed well-defined muscles. Yuan Yuan stood close enough to feel his oppressive aura.

โ€œWhoโ€ฆ who are you?โ€

Shi Yao smirked, his tone unwavering: โ€œIโ€™m her man.โ€

The audience erupted, their gazes turning peculiar, suggestive, and complex as they studied the pair.

Undeniably, Alarieka had been moved mere seconds ago by Shiyaoโ€™s chivalrous defense. But now, she just wanted to kick him straight into outer space.

Watching the shifting expressions around them, Alarieka stepped forward, pulling Shiyao to her side. She addressed Zhao Yuanyuan: โ€œAny other questions?โ€

Zhao Yuanyuanโ€™s chest tightened with fury: โ€œYouโ€“โ€

โ€œAlarieka.โ€

A low voice sliced through the tense standoff.

Heads turned toward the sound.

No one present could forget who owned that voice.

Instinctively, the crowd parted like the Red Sea.
