Chapter 56
The girl hesitated a bit: โWhatโs wrong with your voice?โ
Alarieka coughed a few times: โItโs fine, go ahead.โ
The girlโs voice got lower: โDo you remember me? That time outside school, my momโs electric scooter hit Mr. Argentโs Rolls-Royce, and you told Mr. Argent not to blame my mom.โ
โRemember, whatโs up?โ
The girl said, โI only told you because of this. You should come to school right now. Ms. Wright was about to get fired by the principal because she made you the host without permission, and all that stuff happened. The principal was really mad and said someone had to be held responsible.โ
Alariekaโs pupils shrank.
In the principalโs office.
Alarieka lowered her voice and asked, โWhy did you fire Ms. Wright? I did this, it had nothing to do with Ms. Wright!โ
The principal looked impatient: โYou still have the energy to stand up for her here. Youโd better think about yourself. The process to expel you is already underway. After a while, you wonโt need to come to school anymore.โ
About persuading someone to quit, Alarieka didnโt feel any pressure at all. She could do this, and she could handle the consequences.
But she didnโt want Reyna to get dragged into this. Reyna was a good person and shouldnโt just get fired for no reason.
Most of the teachers in this school were officially employed. It was really hard to get inโhundreds or even thousands of people fought for one spot. Reyna got in the same way. Reyna even took the exam three times before finally making it.
She did it all by herself and took the blame alone. Reyna was just dragged into it for no reason and really shouldnโt have been punished.
Alariekaโs eyes were red and she clenched her fists: โPrincipal, if I went to clear things up, could you not fire Ms. Wright?โ
The principal sneered, โWhat does this have to do with you now? Ms. Whitaker already cleared things up online, youโre useless now, just get lost.โ
โI really didnโt know where you got the guts to mess with Ms. Whitaker. Ms. Whitaker had Mr. Argent behind her. Mr. Argent took care of everything for her. What did you have?โ
Alarieka wanted to say something else, but Reyna rushed in, grabbed her wrist, and pulled her out.
In the corner of the classroom building, Alarieka kept her head down and couldnโt even look Reyna in the eye.
โSorry, Ms. Wright, it was my fault you got in trouble. Iโll go beg the principal not to fire you.โ
โThese were all things I did. Whatever the principal wanted me to do, I would cooperate.โ
Reyna was silent for a while and sighed, โItโs no use asking the principal. Donโt go. If Iโm fired, then so be it. Iโll find another job.โ
Alarieka looked up with red eyes, โBut you spent three years to get this job. I donโt want it to be like this.โ
As she spoke, she turned to run: โIโll go beg the principal right now.โ
Reyna looked away helplessly and suddenly grabbed Alariekaโs wrist: โDonโt go. The one who wanted to fire me wasnโt the principal, it was someone else. Asking the principal wonโt help.โ
Alariekaโs whole body trembled, and she turned her head to look at her, eyes slightly wide.
โSoโฆ it was Kieran?โ
Reyna kept her mouth shut and as Alarieka's eyes got even redder, and her lips were trembling a bit, โWas it really him?โ
Alarieka looked like she was struck by lightning, and her face turned pale in an instant.
She had thought Kieran disliked her, but she didnโt expect him to dislike her this much.
She thought Kieran would only go after her, but she didnโt expect that he hated her so much he even went after the people who helped her.
Alariekaโs steps stopped.
If it really was Kieran pulling the strings, then there was pretty much no room to turn things around.
Especially since this thing also involved Roschelle, and Kieran was super protective of his wife.
Kieran was clear about everything about Roschelle.
Just like before, even if Nina was his biological daughter, Kieran never let Nina call him dad.
Seven days after Nina died, Kieran didnโt even notice that Nina had been gone for seven days.
If something happened to Roschelle and his sonโฆ
No, Kieran would never let anything happen to his and Roschelleโs son.
Reyna let go of the hand holding her, gave a slight smile, and said, โItโs okay, Alarieka, Iโm fine, you donโt have to worry, itโs just a jobโฆโ
โI went to beg him.โ
Alariekaโs voice was weak but firm.
Reynaโs eyes looked dull, like she couldnโt bear it: โDonโt do anything stupid. Go find the principal first and ask him not to expel you. Your exams were just a few months away. Think about yourself first.โ
