Chapter 57

Alaricka looked at her and gritted her teeth, โ€œMs. Wright, I wasnโ€™t going to let you get fired.โ€

Reyna frowned, looking anxious. โ€œMr. Argent is tough. How did you ask him? Donโ€™t get yourself in trouble if you didnโ€™t get what you wanted.โ€

Reyna also knew a bit about what happened between Kieran, Alarieka, and Roschelle. Kieranโ€™s attitude toward Alarieka was really bad. Besides, the chances were high that Kieran was the one pushing behind the scenes for Alarieka to be asked to leave the school. Alarieka could barely take care of herself, so there was no need to bother with her stuff.

Alarieka opened her mouth, her voice hoarse: โ€œItโ€™s okay, I had to give it a try.โ€

Reyna frowned, โ€œWhy didnโ€™t you listen to advice?โ€ She always felt that Alarieka going there this time was definitely not going to end well.

Alarieka took a few steps back, her smile was weak: โ€œMs. Wright, I did this. Iโ€™ll take responsibility for what I did. I wonโ€™t drag you into this. Iโ€™ll face all the consequences myself.โ€

As soon as she finished speaking, Alarieka rushed out of the campus in a hurry.

Chapter 57

Kicrose Group was a company Kieran started back in college, and Kieran really was the business genius people talked about. It had only been a few years, and Kierose Group had already gone public. Now, Kierose Groupโ€™s value was already over ten billion. It was during work hours, so Kieran was probably at Kicrose Group.

Alarieka took a cab to the building of Kierose Group. The Kierose Group building was in the center of the cityโ€™s business district. The tall floors almost couldnโ€™t be seen at the top. The name and logo of Kierose Group were hanging on the building.

This used to be her nightmare. After she and Nina were kicked out of the Argent family, she had to go out and find a job to support Nina. In her previous life, she not only didnโ€™t get into college, she didnโ€™t even graduate from high school, so there was no way she could find a good job. She applied for lots of jobs like waitress and dishwasher, but without exception, no restaurant wanted her. There was a regular stall owner lady who felt sorry for her, a widow with a kid, so she took her in. But three days later, the bossโ€™s whole family hurriedly moved out. Even if she was stupid before, she could guess it was Kieran pulling the strings.

Just when she and Nina got kicked out by the landlord of the rental place, Kieran showed up. Kieran let her work as a cleaner in the Kierose Group building, and besides that, she had nowhere else to go. Thirty-three whole floors, with dozens of cleaners. But at Kieranโ€™s signal, the other cleaners dumped all the work on her. She had to clean thirty-three floors every day, got so tired her back and waist ached, her arms and legs kept shaking, and she didnโ€™t even have time to take care of Nina. Even so, her monthly salary was only two thousand, with no benefits and no days off. Kieran meant, if she didnโ€™t want to do it, she could leave, but in this city, she wouldnโ€™t find any other job. She worked hard at Kierose Group for a year, and in the end, Roschelle kicked her out for the floor not being clean.

Looking at this building, Alarieka couldnโ€™t help but tremble, like there was a fear deep in her soul that just wouldnโ€™t go away. She didnโ€™t want to set foot in here again. Reyna was just kind at heart; she really shouldnโ€™t have been dragged down by her.

Alarieka looked down at the phone that just wouldnโ€™t go through, gritted her teeth, and walked in. She just went in, and the front desk staff stopped her.

โ€œMs. Huston, sorry, who were you looking for?โ€

Alarieka looked at the familiar layout, a little lost: โ€œIโ€™m looking for Kieran.โ€

The front desk staff first looked at her plain clothes, glanced at each other, and gave a knowing, contemptuous smile.

โ€œSorry, Ms. Huston, Mr. Argent already guessed you would come to see him. Mr. Argent said he didnโ€™t want to see you, and he specially told us not to let you in, so please go back.โ€

She guessed those staff thought she was a woman who would do anything to climb up the social ladder. Alarieka didnโ€™t want to waste words and just went straight over.

โ€œHey, Ms. Huston, you couldnโ€™t go in! Ms. Huston!โ€

The elevator that went straight to the chairmanโ€™s office slowly opened, and Kieranโ€™s assistant stepped out, smiling and said:

โ€œMs. Huston, sorry, Mr. Argent wasnโ€™t here.โ€

Alarieka clenched her fists. โ€œSo where is he? I wanted to find him.โ€
