Alaricka’s face almost changed, a strong hatred flashing in her eyes.

As soon as I looked up, I met Kieran’s curious gaze in the rearview mirror.

That one look seemed to calm Alaricka down.

Kieran’s eyes were full of doubt and curiosity, and that suspicion Alaricka had always hated.

Alaricka calmly looked away and said in a flat voice, “I was just congratulating you on having a baby, and now the baby’s here.”

Watching this scene, the assistant's eyes widened, burning with gossip. They couldn’t stop glancing back, just in time to see Roschelle with her head down, cheeks blushing, and eyes looking shy.

“This wasn’t certain yet.”

The assistant couldn’t help saying, “Mr. Argent, you were so fast.”

Roschelle had just come back from out of town, and the kid was already two months pregnant.

What did this show? It showed that as soon as Roschelle came back, Kieran and Roschelle just couldn’t help themselves and did all kinds of things that are hard to describe.

The more he thought about it, the brighter the assistant’s eyes got.

It was just that, all of a sudden, the special assistant remembered that the adopted daughter of the Argent family, Alaricka, was still sitting next to him.

She said, “I’ll go for my checkup. Mr. Argent, you just stay with your girlfriend for her checkup.”

The gynecology department and the physical exam department in this hospital were in two separate buildings, and it took ten minutes to go back and forth.

She had just finished saying that when Kieran put his hand on Roschelle’s shoulder and said to the assistant, “I’ll go with Rose for the checkup, you go with her.”

Alaricka didn’t have the patience to wait for them and just walked off.

The assistant’s eyes sparkled with gossip and excitement. After reluctantly taking their eyes off Kieran and Roschelle’s backs, they trotted after Alaricka.

The checkup showed everything was fine, just some minor scrapes.

And the result on Roschelle’s side was just like Alaricka guessed—she really was two months pregnant.

It was just that the looks on their faces didn’t seem happy.

Kieran looked serious, grabbed Roschelle’s shoulder, held Roschelle’s test results in the other hand, and said in a low voice:

“Since you were already pregnant, don’t move out yet. Just keep living here so I could have someone take care of you.”

Roschelle bit her lip and looked down, hesitating. “Okay, then… then what about your grandpa? And your family?”

Kieran obviously didn’t care about Roschelle’s worries and just said, “I’ll handle Grandpa. You just focus on getting better.”

Roschelle’s eyes turned red. She wrapped her arms around Kieran’s waist, buried her face in Kieran’s shoulder, and her voice was muffled in his chest.

“Okay, I got it."

“Kier, I always trusted you.”

Alaricka sat in the passenger seat, looked at the two in the back, and had a sarcastic smile on her lips.

It was probably because she got pregnant before marriage and felt it was shameful.

She closed her eyes.

At that moment, Alaricka was just glad that in this life, she hadn’t let Nina be born, and she hadn’t become Nina’s mother.

Kieran raised his hand and touched Roschelle’s back, patting her gently: “Watch your emotions, don’t get too worked up.”

Roschelle nodded, slipped out of Kieran’s arms, took the checklist, and looked down carefully at the ultrasound image on it.

She suddenly looked up and looked at Alaricka.

“Alaricka, look, this is my kid.”

Alaricka just glanced at the ultrasound report, then looked away and said in a flat voice, “Congrats, you’re gonna be a mom.”

There was a hint of malice and provocation in Roschelle’s eyes, but she still wore a gentle smile: “Alaricka, will you be my kid’s godmother?”

Alaricka’s eyes twitched, and her mouth reacted faster than her brain.

“Don’t.”

“Not okay.”

The first "don't" was said by her, the second "not okay" was said by Kieran.
