Chapter 74

Alaricka heard Kieran’s refusal and didn’t feel sad, just relieved.

When she heard Roschelle’s suggestion, she felt like Roschelle was up to something bad again, digging some kind of trap for her to fall into.

Since the kid’s father, Kieran, already refused, she felt relieved too.

Alarieka quickly added, afraid Kieran would change his mind: “Mr. Argent already said no, so Ms. Whitaker should just forget it.”

Roschelle gave Kieran a playful look and said softly, “Alright then.”

Kieran took her to the apartment building. Before getting out of the car, Alarieka gave a gentle smile, leaned over to Kieran, and said in a sweet voice:

“Mr. Argent, congratulations, you had a baby boy.”

After saying this, Alarieka didn’t wait for Kieran to react and slammed the door shut.

Alarieka figured it out. Since Roschelle was already pregnant, shouldn’t Kieran also put some of his energy into Roschelle and her baby?

Wouldn’t that mean there was no way to find Jaylene, so she had enough time and space to win Jaylene over?

Alarieka figured it out, and the stuffy feeling in her chest eased up a lot right away, so she walked a lot lighter.

At the Argent’s villa, Kieran took Roschelle to a hospital owned by the Argent family. The fact that Roschelle was pregnant and Kieran took her for a prenatal checkup was quickly told to Wallace by people from the Argent family.

Wallace was overjoyed.

With a precious great-grandchild, how could he not be happy?

Besides, the one who gave birth to this precious great-grandchild was his granddaughter-in-law, whom he still kind of approved of.

That night, Wallace waited early at the gate of the Argent’s villa, craning his neck to watch the passing cars.

When he noticed Kieran’s car coming over, his eyes lit up, and he walked toward the car at a speed he hadn’t shown in years.

The car stopped, and Kieran was the first to get out.

Then Kieran went around to the other side and carefully helped Roschelle out of the car.

Wallace saw Kieran’s careful moves, and the bit of uncertainty he still had in his heart was gone.

Wallace laughed out loud and quickly said, “Help her in, it’s still the first three months; pregnant women need to be extra careful.”

Roschelle lightly put her hand on Kieran’s arm. When she heard that, she lowered her head, blushing, and walked even more carefully.

Wallace suddenly felt the lights in the yard weren’t bright enough, so he quickly told a servant to shine a flashlight on Roschelle’s path.

After a lot of twists and turns, Roschelle finally walked into the Argent’s villa under everyone’s “nervousness.”

Wallace looked at Roschelle’s prenatal checkup report, his eyes squinted with a smile, just looking at Roschelle with satisfaction.

“Rose, huh.”

Hearing that name, Roschelle’s heart skipped with joy.

This was still the first time Wallace called her by such an intimate name.

Roschelle’s chest swelled. She guessed that meant she was accepted.

Wallace glared at Kieran and said, “This was Kier’s fault; nothing was settled yet, and something like this already happened.”

Roschelle hurriedly said, “Don’t blame him, it was my own decision too.”

Wallace heard her stand up for Kieran and looked even more satisfied.

“Don’t bother explaining for him; I knew what kind of guy this brat was.”

“Since you were already pregnant with the Argent family’s child, some rules should be brought up. Anyway, the Argent family wouldn’t treat you badly. Whatever you deserved, I’d give you.”

“This thing was kind of Kier’s fault. We would give you extra compensation. The family would hire a professional nutritionist to help you get better. You just needed to stay here and rest for now. Kier would take care of everything else for you. All you had to do was focus on having the baby.”

“I think the 18th of next month was a good day. You guys should hurry up and get the certificate.”

Listening to Wallace, Roschelle’s throat tightened, and her hand clenched unconsciously.

She looked at Kieran without thinking: “Kier…”

Kieran gave her a reassuring look and said in a deep, warm voice, “Listen to Grandpa.”

Tears instantly welled up in Roschelle’s eyes, and her nose stung.

She didn’t expect that the thing she looked forward to and wanted so much just landed in her hands so easily.

She just made it like that.

Wallace chuckled kindly, “Don’t cry, you’ll have better luck in the future; the Argent family never treats any woman who marries in badly.”

Roschelle wiped away her tears and nodded hard. “Okay, I got it, thank you, Sir Argent.”

She looked at Kieran with red eyes and said, “Thanks, Kier.”

Kieran put his arm around her shoulders, his tone unusually gentle: “I’ll help you upstairs to rest.”
