โ€œDebra, can you stop this?โ€ Juan said coldly, standing protectively in front of Shella.

Debra didnโ€™t want to argue. She warned him bluntly, โ€œIf you donโ€™t want Grandma to see these photos, youโ€™d better do as I say.โ€

Juan narrowed his eyes. โ€œWhat do you want?โ€

โ€œI want you to leave the Mathis family alone and compensate them.โ€

She knew an apology from Juan was impossible. Apologies were cheap. Compensation, however, was much better.

Juan replied icily, โ€œFat chance!โ€

โ€œFine! Iโ€™ll let Grandma see these photos and learn youโ€™ve deceived her. Sheโ€™ll know you came out with me today just to meet Shelia,โ€ Debra said. โ€œI have nothing to lose. But Sheliaโ€ฆ Grandma has already cut off all her scholarships and allowances. I canโ€™t imagine what will happen to her if these photos end up in Grandmaโ€™s hands.โ€

Shella turned pale with fright.

โ€œAre you threatening me?โ€

โ€œHell yeah!โ€ Debra had no intention of wasting her breath on Juan. She had the evidence, and she was fully capable of using it.

โ€œJuanโ€ฆโ€ Shelia looked at him with teary eyes.

Sensing her distress, Juan said, โ€œWhat kind of compensation do you want?โ€

โ€œThe Mathis familyโ€™s losses should be repaid double, and from now on, you canโ€™t cause them any more trouble.โ€

โ€œFine!โ€ Juan agreed quickly, clearly for Shellaโ€™s sake. He couldnโ€™t bear to see her suffer more.

โ€œGet the finance department to handle it now. I want to see the results today.โ€

โ€œDo you have to be so aggressive?โ€

โ€œThatโ€™s how Iโ€™ve always been. This isnโ€™t the first day youโ€™ve known me.โ€

Juan was speechless. He eventually called the finance department.

Shelia sobbed, โ€œItโ€™s all my fault. If I hadnโ€™t come to see you, Debra wouldnโ€™t have found a reason to threaten you, and you wouldnโ€™t have suffered these losses.โ€

Debra sneered at Shellaโ€™s display without saying anything.

โ€œItโ€™s not your fault,โ€ Juan comforted Shelia, shooting a pointed glance at Debra. A moment later, Debra received a message from Erica confirming the crisis was resolved. Satisfied, Debra said to Juan, โ€œThank you for your generosity, Mr. Nichols. You guys go ahead and shop. Iโ€™ll head off.โ€

She casually turned to leave.

Juan called after her, โ€œErica is just an outsider. Youโ€™ll regret this.โ€

โ€œLetโ€™s see who regrets it first,โ€ Debra said, glancing meaningfully at Shelia.

Juan couldnโ€™t decipher the meaning behind that look. Shelia continued to act frail and weepy.

Debra left the mall and drove off.
