Chapter 1040
โYou shouldโve told me last night.โ
โI didnโt get the chance.โ
Randy and Erica were on the verge of a full-blown argument when Debra interjected, โExactly, no time. Randy came back and passed out. How could he even bring up the wedding?โ
Erica realized she had let something slip. She bolted in a panic.
โErica!โ Randy rushed after her.
They fought in the last second and made up in the next. Yet, they were still hiding their relationship.
Before Debra could reflect further, Marion hugged her from behind. โThe sun isnโt even up yet, and youโre here catching cheaters?โ
Debra rolled her eyes. โGive me a break. I was trying to sleep, but the racket next door was too much.โ
Until now, she hadnโt realized Randy could be so exhausting. In this aspect, he and Marion were evenly matched.
โLooks like weโll need to live farther away from them,โ he chuckled, ruffling Debraโs hair. โOur wedding is half a month away. Are you ready to become my bride?โ
โIโm always ready,โ Debra replied, smiling at him. โAre you ready to be my groom?โ
โIโve been waiting for this day for a long time.โ
โSo, your answer isโฆโ
โYes. Iโm ready to be your groom, anytime and anywhere.โ
He leaned down and kissed her gently. Debra blushed up to her ears, and her cherry lips looked inviting.
Feeling a surge of heat within him, Marion scooped her into his arms and carried her back to the bedroom.
โStop messing around,โ she protested, lightly tapping his shoulder. โYouโre still injured.โ
โItโs nothing,โ he said, his gaze lingering on her lips.
Though his injury had kept him restrained for days, being close to Debra made self-control impossible.
Marion leaned in for another kiss. It was gentler but more consuming.
Debra melted under his touch, her body going weak. A moan escaped from her mouth, shattering Marionโs last shred of restraint.
He murmured, โYouโre such a temptress.โ
Debraโs face turned a deeper shade of red, but before she could respond, Marionโs lips trailed down to her collarbone.
โBy the way,โ he said, โmy grandpa said weโre not supposed to see each other the day before the wedding. Itโs a tradition.โ
โSince when do you follow rules?โ she teased.
โNever,โ he admitted with a grin, โbut this time, I want to.โ
โWhy? Afraid breaking the rules will bring bad luck?โ
โYes,โ he said, surprisingly serious.
Debra blinked in surprise as he cupped her face gently. โIโm afraid if I break the rules, the heavens will punish me by taking you away. I donโt fear anything, except losing you. So, just this once, Iโll be superstitious. Just this once.โ
Debraโs heart softened. She laced her fingers with his and said, โSilly, Iโm not going anywhere.โ
