Chapter 1060
Liza grinned cheekily. โMy allowance has gone up every year, but donโt lose heart. Iโll tell Dad to raise your allowance too.โ She looked at Garlandโs sullen face and patted his shoulder. โCheer up. Iโm off shopping.โ She leisurely hummed a song and skipped away.
Far away in Seamar City, Robert was reporting his duties to Theda. โThese past few days, most of the McKinney Groupโs clients have jumped ship and joined us. Now that their artists are on hiatus, we can grab their endorsement deals. Within a month, weโll swallow up all the resources theyโre holding onto,โ he said.
โIs Debra doing nothing about this?โ Theda asked.
โShe did,โ Robert replied. โMichael has been working around the clock. Debraโs trying to use him to salvage the situation. But itโs not working.โ
โMichael may be their ace, and Debraโs relying on him to secure only luxury brand endorsements. But if she doesnโt care about the smaller deals, weโll take them,โ Theda said, tapping her chin. โWithout clients or resources, McKinney will be an empty shell. It wonโt take long before their funds run dry.โ
โDonโt you think itโs a bit rash?โ Robert asked. โDebra is not a sitting duck.โ
โNah. Weโre on top now, and clients are flocking to us. Itโs a fact Debra canโt change,โ Theda said dismissively. โCheck their revenue for this month. Itโs probably not even a fraction of ours.โ
โTheir commercial street still generates significant income for them,โ Robert pointed out. โEven without endorsements, theyโre far from weak.โ
โI was just a little late snatching that street,โ Theda sighed. โBut it doesnโt matter. Let Debra guard her territory. As long as I take control of the Nichols Group, nothing else matters.โ
The Nichols Group had been the dominant force in Seamar City for years, with connections and resources that far surpassed the McKinney Groupโs. Theda glanced at Debraโs recent post on social media. Her lips curled in disdain. โVacation, huh? Let them enjoy it while it lasts.โ
Seven days later, at a beachfront villa, Marion was applying sunscreen to Debraโs back. Over the past few days, the artists had been running wild at the beach, letting loose like never before. Debra also played until she was utterly worn out. This was the first real break sheโd had in over a year. Every day in Seamar City had been a grueling battle of wits. Now she finally had a chance to relax.
โWould you call this a honeymoon?โ Debra asked.
Marion chuckled while working on the sunscreen. โThe honeymoons Iโve heard of usually involve two people traveling the world, without kids to build sandcastles.โ
Debra turned over, her bikini highlighting her toned figure. She wrapped her arms around Marionโs neck and teased, โYou donโt like this trip?โ
โWell,โ Randy replied, โyour presence has brought color to the beach.โ
