Chapter 1096
As the whiskey was brought over, Randy quickly downed it in one gulp. Drake saw it and snorted, โCoward.โ
โWhat? Who are you calling a coward?โ Randy spat, pointing at Drake. โDonโt think just because youโve known Marion longer, I wonโt dare to punch you. Let me tell you, Iโm Marionโs best friend.โ
โWho cares about your friendship? You want to hit me? Go ahead and try.โ
Just as Randy was about to make a move, Garland quickly checked him. โCalm down. You donโt want to ruin Marion and Debraโs big day.โ
โYouโre right,โ Randy said, grimacing. โBut how did Marion, a lone wolf, manage to get married? While Iโm still stuck with nothing.โ
Unsure how to comfort him, Garland patted him on the back, which caused him to retch. A strong smell of alcohol wafted through the air. Garland, who hated bad smells, immediately felt queasy and almost gagged from the stench.
โWhat the hell?โ He shoved Randy away in disgust.
โSorry,โ Randy wobbled.
Drake couldnโt help but roll his eyes. โWhat kind of people are Marion and Debra hanging out with? These two are oddities. Except for Caleb, the rest of them are a bunch of fools.โ
โHere they come! The bride and groom are here to toast,โ someone exclaimed.
Everyone turned toward the corner, where Marion and Debra, having changed into their toasting outfits, were starting to greet the guests. They went to the main table first. When Debra saw the vomit on Garland and Randyโs flushed face, she immediately realized what had happened.
Instead of calling them out, she bent her knees and presented tea to Caleb, together with Marion. โGrandpa, please have some tea,โ she said, handing the teacup to him.
Caleb smiled from ear to ear as he took the cup from her. But when his gaze fell on Marion, his expression hardened. โYou better treat Debra well from now on. The Frazier family may not have much, but Debra is now my granddaughter-in-law. You canโt fail her or let anyone else bully her. Got it?โ
โI will protect her with my life,โ Marion promised.
Caleb nodded in satisfaction and patted him on the shoulder. โGo ahead and toast the guests. Make sure you toast each one of them. Or youโre no good to the Houston family.โ
The corners of Debraโs mouth twitched. โWhat a loving grandfather!โ
Drake leaned back in his chair and poured himself a glass of wine. โMarion, shouldnโt you two be toasting me?โ
Randy chimed in, โDonโt flatter yourself. If it werenโt for you, theyโd have been married a long time ago.โ
