Chapter 1095
โHurry! Whereโs the dress for the toast?โ Erica rushed to find the next set of clothes for Debra.
Just as they reached the changing room, a staff member handed Erica a white dress. Without looking closely, Erica was about to pass it to Debra. The staff member quickly intervened, โMiss Mathis. Thatโs not for the bride. Itโs for you.โ
โFor me? Do bridesmaids need to change clothes too?โ Erica asked, surprised.
Liza hurried over. โWhat about me?โ
โIโm sorry, Miss Eaton, this one is for Miss Mathis,โ the staff member explained.
Liza grumbled, โWeโre both bridesmaids. Why does Erica get to change and I donโt? I donโt care. I want to change too.โ
The staff member looked troubled. If she couldnโt complete the task Randy gave her, her career was over.
โHere, you can change into this one,โ Debra chimed in, handing Liza a white gown.
The staff member was relieved, admiring Debraโs foresight.
Debra added, โCome with me. This one is a bit tricky to put on.โ
โI usually donโt share changing rooms,โ Liza said. โBut since itโs your wedding day, Iโll make an exception.โ
With that, she followed Debra into the changing room. Erica was eager to follow them, but the staff member stopped her. โMiss Mathis, the changing room is small. You can change here.โ
Erica reluctantly went to another changing room with her dress.
In the changing room, Liza fussed, โWait. Why is my dress different from Ericaโs?โ They were wearing the same thing earlier.
Debra leaned in and whispered something in her ear. Only then did Liza nod knowingly. Outside in the hall, Randy was downing one glass of wine after another.
Garland was puzzled. โBro, this is not your wedding. Why are you drinking so much? You should save your stomach for Marion.โ
There were over a hundred tables in the grand hall, and the guests couldnโt be counted. Just toasting them alone would take hours.
โIโm okay,โ Randy mumbled, his face already flushed from the alcohol.
โWow! Youโre still not slurring. How much can you drink?โ Garland asked.
โI donโt know. Why isnโt it hitting me now?โ Randy wondered. He had been expecting the alcohol to boost his courage.
Frustrated, he turned to a nearby staff member. โGet me a bottle of whiskey and mix it with soda. Thatโll hit me faster.โ
โSir, youโll get drunk like that,โ the staff member warned.
โThatโs the point,โ Randy insisted. Otherwise, even with his extroverted personality, he wouldnโt dare confess his feelings to Erica in public. If Erica rejected him, heโd be all over the news tomorrow, right alongside Marion and Debraโs wedding.
Just the thought of her rejection filled him with dread. He tried to recall how Marion had confessed his feelings. โWasnโt he nervous at all?โ Randy wondered.
