Chapter 1098
Randyโs voice was so loud it brought the entire room to silence. Erica froze, and so did Randy. He had only meant to ask her to be his girlfriend. But with the alcohol clouding his head, his true feelings had slipped out. Before he could backtrack, the crowd around them began to cheer, โSay yes.โ
Erica was flustered, glancing at the ring and then at the onlookers. She blushed and stammered, โThis is Juan and Debraโs wedding day. What are you doing? Get up.โ
โI donโt care. If you donโt say yes, Iโm not getting up,โ Randy insisted, playing the rogue.
To stop the farce, she extended her hand and said, โAlright, Iโll say yes. Just get up already.โ
Randy lit up with joy, quickly slipping the ring onto her finger. Debra burst out laughing. โRandy, youโve got it all wrong. She agreed to your proposal, but she didnโt say sheโs ready to have the wedding right now.โ
Randyโs face turned crimson. He hurried to take the ring off, but Erica grabbed him and bolted from the stage. The crowd continued to cheer as she dragged him to a quiet corner.
Once they were alone, Erica sulked, โWho taught you to propose like that? Iโm not even your girlfriend yet. And you just proposed.โ
Before she could finish, Randy cupped the back of her head and kissed her. The kiss sent her mind reeling. Everything she wanted to say evaporated.
When Randy finally let her go, he looked her in the eye and said seriously, โYou said yes. No take-backs.โ
Erica swallowed hard, her face burning. She pushed him away, flustered. โIโm not dealing with you right now. Wait until we get home.โ
Debra watched the scene from afar and felt happy for them. Turning her head, she inadvertently caught a glimpse of a figure standing in the corner of the banquet hall. Debra leaned close to Marion, who was busy toasting guests, and whispered, โIโll step away for a while.โ
โAlright,โ Juan nodded. He only resumed toasting after making sure she was within his sight.

In the corner, Debra approached someone she hadnโt seen in a while. Jordan looked much more robust than before. โI thought you werenโt coming. What are you staying here alone?โ she said.
Jordanโs eyes flicked away as he replied, โJust wanted to take a look.โ
โWhy didnโt you just hand me the gift yourself?โ
โMy identity makes it inconvenient,โ Jordan explained, his gaze dropping to the diamond ring on her finger. โThe diamond suits you. Juan treats you well.โ
โGrow up,โ Debra teased him. โSomeday, youโll find your happiness.โ
Jordan frowned. โWeโre the same age. You make it sound like youโve lived years more than me.โ
