Chapter 1099
Debra laughed with amusement, and Jordan laughed along.
โAlright, I canโt stay long. Congrats on the wedding. Remember to open the gift when you get back.โ
โGot it.โ
He put on his helmet, and she saw him off with a smile.
โWhat are you doing there alone?โ Erica rushed over, holding up her dress.
Debra looked at her still-flushed face. โDid the confession go well?โ
Erica blushed even more. โDid you know about it all along?โ
โOf course,โ Debra grinned.
Erica pouted. โHow could you let Randy do something so crazy? Who proposes at someone elseโs wedding?โ
โHeโs not an outsider,โ Debra said, smiling. โBesides, weโre all happy for you two.โ
Just then, Liza came up and said, โWhat are you guys doing here? The bride needs to change clothes.โ
Debraโs smile faltered, and Erica teased her, โYouโve got twelve outfits to get through tonight. No slacking off.โ
She then dragged Debra to the dressing room.
In the hall, everyone was full and tipsy by the time Debra emerged in her twelfth outfit. The photo session began, dragging on endlessly as guests from every table wanted pictures. The media snapped away relentlessly.
Finally, it was time for the last group photo. Caleb sat in the center, with Debra and Marion on either side. Randy, Erica, Michael, Garland, and Liza joined them.
Just as they were about to take the photo, Randy called out to Drake, โArenโt you joining us?โ
โNah, why should I?โ Drake had no intention of moving. He was just there to have fun. Taking photos was not fun.
โItโs alright,โ Debra said. โLetโs take the shot.โ
Caught up in the moment, Drake suddenly changed his mind. โYou know what? Iโll join.โ
He stepped forward, making sure to stand prominently. โIf it werenโt for me, you wouldnโt even be having this wedding. So, itโs only right that Iโฆโ
โCut the chatter. Letโs get this over with,โ Randy interrupted, urging the photographer to hurry.
โOne, two, three, cheese.โ
The camera flashed, and the photo was taken.
As evening approached, performances began. None of the guests left, but Debra and Marion were ready to retire to the pre-booked hotel.
โIโm beat,โ Erica said, rubbing her shoulders as Debra removed her headpiece. โWhat does Marion have planned for your wedding night? Any surprises?โ
โNot sure about surprises,โ Debra yawned. โI just want to sleep.โ
Erica shook her head. โNo way. Tonight, you two will be opening gifts until your hands cramp.โ
โHuh?โ
โSee that gift table out front? Those thin envelopes are stuffed with bank cards.โ
โHow do you know that?โ
โI checked.โ
