Chapter 125

Rosalieโ€™s smile vanished instantly. She stood abruptly from her chair, her voice rising several octaves. โ€œWhat? Divorce?โ€

โ€œWhy are you so surprised?โ€ Debra said.

โ€œHow could you divorce? Thatโ€™s Juan,โ€ Rosalie said incredulously. Debra had been head over heels for Juan, going to great lengths to marry him. It was hard to believe she wanted a divorce; they had been married only a couple of months.

Ralph pondered a moment and asked, โ€œIs this Juanโ€™s decision?โ€

โ€œNo, itโ€™s mine.โ€

โ€œHave you thought this through?โ€

Debra nodded firmly. โ€œYes, I have.โ€

Upon hearing Debraโ€™s resolve, Ralph seemed equally determined. โ€œAlright then, letโ€™s proceed with the divorce.โ€

โ€œWhat? No!โ€ Rosalie pushed Ralph aside and shouted at Debra, โ€œYouโ€™re not taking marriage seriously at all! If you divorce Juan, what will become of our family? Do you want to let Ralph down?โ€

Debra looked on coldly. Ralph took a stand and pulled Rosalie aside. โ€œShut up! You have no say here.โ€

โ€œRalph! Do you have no conscience? Everything I do is for you and the Frazier family. If Debra divorces him, how can we survive?โ€

Debra remained silent. Rosalie wasnโ€™t entirely wrong; the Frazier familyโ€™s prosperity was largely due to Juan. The alliance with the Nichols family had greatly benefited them.

Ralph argued, โ€œI donโ€™t believe we canโ€™t thrive without him. Besides, even if we lose everything, the money we have could last you and your son for several lifetimes. Learn to be content!โ€

Rosalie was furious. Stanley Frazier, who had been silent, stepped in to defend Rosalie. โ€œDad, Mom has a point. Debra is the heiress to the Frazier family. Weโ€™ve raised her all these years. She should contribute to the family.โ€

โ€œShut up!โ€ Ralph yelled at him.

Despite his dissatisfaction, Stanley dared not defy his father. Ralph turned to Debra and said solemnly, โ€œDebra is the only child left by your eldest brother. I promised him to take good care of her. Letโ€™s not discuss this anymore. Even without Juan, we can thrive.โ€

Debra knew Ralph cared for her; he had treated her like his own child.

โ€œUncle Ralph, trust me. I wonโ€™t let the Frazier family fall,โ€ Debra finally broke her silence.

Rosalie, beside herself with anger, interjected, โ€œTrust you? How can we trust you? Just because youโ€™re studying at Arcane Academy, you think you can manage the family?โ€

Others chimed in: โ€œYes, Mr. Frazier, you should think twice. If Ms. Frazier leaves Mr. Nichols, what will we do?โ€ โ€œYou canโ€™t be so selfish, Ms. Frazier. If you divorce Mr. Nichols, weโ€™ll all be left out in the cold.โ€

The voices of the extended Frazier family and executives echoed around the room.

Ralphโ€™s roar silenced everyone instantly. โ€œEnough! If anyone mentions this again, youโ€™re out!โ€ He was known for his kindness and approachability, but no one dared provoke him when he was angry.
