Chapter 126
โUncle Ralph, thank you,โ Debra whispered. She knew divorcing Juan now would make life difficult for her family, but she swore it wouldnโt last long.
Debra stayed at the house. After dismissing the less important family members, Ralph called her to his study. He seemed much older these years, his face etched with concern. โDebra, is Juan really not good to you?โ
โNot that heโs bad. He just doesnโt like me.โ
โAnd you?โ
Debra fell silent. She once loved Juan deeply, but now she had let go. Ralph observed her expression, patted her shoulder, and sighed. โDebra, Iโm sorry for what youโve been through.โ
Debra shook her head. โActually, I want to discuss something with you.โ
โAbout you and Juan?โ
โNo, I want to take over the Frazier Group for a while.โ
Ralph looked puzzled. โI know youโve learned a lot at Arcane Academy. If you want experience, I can give you a few smaller companies. If you take over the Frazier Group, Iโm worriedโฆโ
โI understand. Youโre worried they wonโt trust me, especially after deciding to divorce Juan. They wonโt accept it,โ Debra said.
Ralph nodded. โItโs good that you understand.โ
โLet me manage some of those struggling companies.โ
โStruggling companies?โ Ralph looked puzzled.
โYes,โ Debra confirmed. She needed those family members to trust her enough to let her take charge, and demonstrating results was crucial.
Outside the study, someone suddenly pushed her from behind. Turning around, she saw Stanley in casual clothes. Seventeen now, he was a head taller than Debra. He looked at her disdainfully. โI warn you. Donโt think about taking my familyโs property!โ
โStanley, is that how your mother taught you manners? Iโm your cousin, and youโd better mind your attitude.โ
โDonโt give me that! My family raised you, and I am the only son of this family. All the properties are mine.โ
Debraโs expression darkened. These were not things a seventeen-year-old boy could say. They were obviously instilled by Rosalie, who always coveted the Frazier familyโs assets.
Debra sneered, โWho taught you these things?โ
Stanleyโs eyes flickered with guilt. โNo one.โ
โIs that so?โ Debra said coldly. โI advise you, if you donโt want to be kicked out, watch your mouth. If thereโs a next time, Iโll teach you a lesson.โ
โYou canโt scare me,โ Stanley scoffed. โYouโre divorcing Juan. Whoโs left to protect you? If youโre smart, go find Juan and plead with him. Maybe you could be his wife for a few more days.โ
