Chapter 126

โ€œUncle Ralph, thank you,โ€ Debra whispered. She knew divorcing Juan now would make life difficult for her family, but she swore it wouldnโ€™t last long.

Debra stayed at the house. After dismissing the less important family members, Ralph called her to his study. He seemed much older these years, his face etched with concern. โ€œDebra, is Juan really not good to you?โ€

โ€œNot that heโ€™s bad. He just doesnโ€™t like me.โ€

โ€œAnd you?โ€

Debra fell silent. She once loved Juan deeply, but now she had let go. Ralph observed her expression, patted her shoulder, and sighed. โ€œDebra, Iโ€™m sorry for what youโ€™ve been through.โ€

Debra shook her head. โ€œActually, I want to discuss something with you.โ€

โ€œAbout you and Juan?โ€

โ€œNo, I want to take over the Frazier Group for a while.โ€

Ralph looked puzzled. โ€œI know youโ€™ve learned a lot at Arcane Academy. If you want experience, I can give you a few smaller companies. If you take over the Frazier Group, Iโ€™m worriedโ€ฆโ€

โ€œI understand. Youโ€™re worried they wonโ€™t trust me, especially after deciding to divorce Juan. They wonโ€™t accept it,โ€ Debra said.

Ralph nodded. โ€œItโ€™s good that you understand.โ€

โ€œLet me manage some of those struggling companies.โ€

โ€œStruggling companies?โ€ Ralph looked puzzled.

โ€œYes,โ€ Debra confirmed. She needed those family members to trust her enough to let her take charge, and demonstrating results was crucial.

Outside the study, someone suddenly pushed her from behind. Turning around, she saw Stanley in casual clothes. Seventeen now, he was a head taller than Debra. He looked at her disdainfully. โ€œI warn you. Donโ€™t think about taking my familyโ€™s property!โ€

โ€œStanley, is that how your mother taught you manners? Iโ€™m your cousin, and youโ€™d better mind your attitude.โ€

โ€œDonโ€™t give me that! My family raised you, and I am the only son of this family. All the properties are mine.โ€

Debraโ€™s expression darkened. These were not things a seventeen-year-old boy could say. They were obviously instilled by Rosalie, who always coveted the Frazier familyโ€™s assets.

Debra sneered, โ€œWho taught you these things?โ€

Stanleyโ€™s eyes flickered with guilt. โ€œNo one.โ€

โ€œIs that so?โ€ Debra said coldly. โ€œI advise you, if you donโ€™t want to be kicked out, watch your mouth. If thereโ€™s a next time, Iโ€™ll teach you a lesson.โ€

โ€œYou canโ€™t scare me,โ€ Stanley scoffed. โ€œYouโ€™re divorcing Juan. Whoโ€™s left to protect you? If youโ€™re smart, go find Juan and plead with him. Maybe you could be his wife for a few more days.โ€
