Chapter 156
โSo, whatโs happening now?โ Erica chimed in.
โWellโฆโ Joe hesitated. Before he could finish, Debra pushed past him and stormed into the room. โJordan! Jordan!โ
โMadam, wait!โ Joe protested, but Debra was already inside. Tracing the sounds of a scuffle, she found Juan towering over Jordan, his fist connecting with Jordanโs jaw.
โStop!โ She rushed forward, placing herself between them. Juan was surprised by her arrival. โWhat? Are you going to protect him?โ
โMove aside! Iโm going to teach him a lesson,โ Jordan snarled, trying to push her aside.
Debra rebuked him, โShut up!โ
โJuan, Iโm so scared,โ whispered Shelia. Across the room, Shelia huddled on the bed, wrapped in a blanket, her shoulders shaking with sobs. Juanโs coat was draped over her. She glanced at Debra, her eyes filled with tears, before quickly looking away.
Debra turned back to Jordan, lowering her voice. โWhat happened here?โ
Jordan took a deep breath, trying to control his anger. โI came to see what these two were up to. The door was slightly open, and when I went in, I saw her undressing with her back to me.โ
Upon hearing his accusation, Shelia burst into tears. โYouโre lying! Did I offend you? How could you slander me like this?โ She turned to Juan, tugging at his sleeve. โJordan barged into the room and tried to rape me. I cried for help.โ
โYouโre talking nonsense,โ Jordan retorted, his face flushed with anger. โWhat kind of woman couldnโt I have? Why would I want you?โ
Shelia recoiled as if slapped, her face a mask of humiliation and pain. Juanโs eyes narrowed, his voice dangerous. โDo you know what youโre talking about, Jordan? Or are you too ashamed to admit it?โ
โI didnโt do anything. Sheโs slandering me!โ
โWho would slander you at the cost of her chastity? Everyone in Seamar City knows what kind of person you are. Itโs fine that you fool around. How dare you get your hands on my people? Who put you up to this?โ Juan glanced pointedly at Debra.
Debra chuckled. โDo you want to say Jordan acted on my orders? Your imagination is quite something.โ
Juan sneered. โIsnโt it? Youโve always had a thing against Shelia. I invited you to this party, but you gave away the dress to her. I found it strange, but I didnโt expect you to team up with Jordan to do this.โ
โUnless you have evidence, stop making baseless accusations,โ Debra countered.
โIf it werenโt for you and Jordan colluding, how could you have arrived so quickly?โ Juan said, his voice dripping with suspicion. โEven if Andrew were here today, I would still teach him a lesson.โ
โBring it on!โ Jordan tried to step forward again, but Debra stopped him.
โWe havenโt sorted this out yet. I think we should call the police,โ she said, her gaze flicking to Shelia. โItโs better to let the police handle this. Theyโll be impartial and uncover the truth.โ
Her suggestion caused Sheliaโs complexion to change.
