Chapter 157
Shelia sobbed, tugging at Juanโs sleeve. โJuan, itโs all my fault for not locking the door. Donโt blame Mr. Jordan Potter. If the police get involved, Iโll be too embarrassed to face anyone.โ
Disgusted by her dramatic display, Jordan wanted to strike her. Debra grabbed his wrist and shook her head.
Feeling sorry for Shelia, Juan glanced at them. โDo you want to make this public?โ
โAccording to Jordan, he barged in without doing anything to her. Calling the police is just to clarify things. Their stories contradict each other, and clearly, someone is lying,โ Debra said, turning to Shelia with a hint of sarcasm. โAre you afraid the police will find out the truth?โ
Sheliaโs sobbing abruptly stopped. She countered, โDebra, what do you mean? Are you saying Iโm lying?โ
Debra shrugged. โWeโll find out after a thorough investigation.โ
Jordan nodded firmly. โI have no objections.โ
Shelia was scared. โJuan, Iโm afraid this will damage your familyโs reputation.โ
โAre you afraid Jordan will use his influence to threaten the police? You can rest assured. Juan is on your side,โ Debra sneered. โWith him protecting you, they wouldnโt dare to favor Jordan.โ
Juan frowned, sensing mockery in Debraโs tone. He patted Sheliaโs back and whispered, โTrust me. Iโll make sure you get justice. They wonโt get away with this.โ
Shelia wanted to say more, but Juan directly instructed Joe, โCall the police.โ
โYes, sir.โ
Sheliaโs heart pounded; her mind raced. She hadnโt expected the situation to escalate so quickly.
Debra tried to lead Jordan out of the room, but Juanโs voice rang out behind them. โPlanning to go out and coordinate your stories?โ
Debra bristled at his words, annoyance flashing across her face. She let go of Jordanโs arm and turned back. โAlright, weโll stay right here and wait for the police. Letโs see if we wrongly accused Shelia.โ
โWe?โ Juan sneered.
โIgnore him,โ Jordan muttered, giving Juan a cold glance. He led Debra to a nearby chair, his hand gently guiding her wrist.
Juanโs eyes followed the movement, his fists clenching at the sight of Jordan touching Debra.
โJuan, Iโm scared,โ Shelia bit her lip, looking pitiful.
Juanโs gaze softened, and he sat down beside her. His eyes, however, remained fixed on Debra and Jordan in the corner.
Before long, the police arrived. Debra stepped forward and recounted the events.
Once the police understood the situation, she turned to Juan. โMr. Nichols, did I miss anything?โ
Juan didnโt speak, indicating there were no issues.
