Chapter 157

Shelia sobbed, tugging at Juanโ€™s sleeve. โ€œJuan, itโ€™s all my fault for not locking the door. Donโ€™t blame Mr. Jordan Potter. If the police get involved, Iโ€™ll be too embarrassed to face anyone.โ€

Disgusted by her dramatic display, Jordan wanted to strike her. Debra grabbed his wrist and shook her head.

Feeling sorry for Shelia, Juan glanced at them. โ€œDo you want to make this public?โ€

โ€œAccording to Jordan, he barged in without doing anything to her. Calling the police is just to clarify things. Their stories contradict each other, and clearly, someone is lying,โ€ Debra said, turning to Shelia with a hint of sarcasm. โ€œAre you afraid the police will find out the truth?โ€

Sheliaโ€™s sobbing abruptly stopped. She countered, โ€œDebra, what do you mean? Are you saying Iโ€™m lying?โ€

Debra shrugged. โ€œWeโ€™ll find out after a thorough investigation.โ€

Jordan nodded firmly. โ€œI have no objections.โ€

Shelia was scared. โ€œJuan, Iโ€™m afraid this will damage your familyโ€™s reputation.โ€

โ€œAre you afraid Jordan will use his influence to threaten the police? You can rest assured. Juan is on your side,โ€ Debra sneered. โ€œWith him protecting you, they wouldnโ€™t dare to favor Jordan.โ€

Juan frowned, sensing mockery in Debraโ€™s tone. He patted Sheliaโ€™s back and whispered, โ€œTrust me. Iโ€™ll make sure you get justice. They wonโ€™t get away with this.โ€

Shelia wanted to say more, but Juan directly instructed Joe, โ€œCall the police.โ€

โ€œYes, sir.โ€

Sheliaโ€™s heart pounded; her mind raced. She hadnโ€™t expected the situation to escalate so quickly.

Debra tried to lead Jordan out of the room, but Juanโ€™s voice rang out behind them. โ€œPlanning to go out and coordinate your stories?โ€

Debra bristled at his words, annoyance flashing across her face. She let go of Jordanโ€™s arm and turned back. โ€œAlright, weโ€™ll stay right here and wait for the police. Letโ€™s see if we wrongly accused Shelia.โ€

โ€œWe?โ€ Juan sneered.

โ€œIgnore him,โ€ Jordan muttered, giving Juan a cold glance. He led Debra to a nearby chair, his hand gently guiding her wrist.

Juanโ€™s eyes followed the movement, his fists clenching at the sight of Jordan touching Debra.

โ€œJuan, Iโ€™m scared,โ€ Shelia bit her lip, looking pitiful.

Juanโ€™s gaze softened, and he sat down beside her. His eyes, however, remained fixed on Debra and Jordan in the corner.

Before long, the police arrived. Debra stepped forward and recounted the events.

Once the police understood the situation, she turned to Juan. โ€œMr. Nichols, did I miss anything?โ€

Juan didnโ€™t speak, indicating there were no issues.
