Chapter 166
Juan hurried toward the center of the stage, pushing through the crowd. His gaze was fixed on the clown in the idle. He was determined to expose Tracy's identity. Debra saw his aggressive look and frowned. โWhatโs Juan up to?โ she wondered.
โOh no, is he planning to publicly unmask Debra?โ Erica exclaimed. They only wanted Juan to see Tracy at this masquerade, not to unmask Debra in front of everyone. Randyโs heart raced. โDamn, isnโt Juan supposed to be mature and composed? Why is he acting so recklessly?โ
Debraโs heart leaped into her throat as she realized the imminent danger. She couldnโt leave, not with Juan so close to exposing her secret. Suddenly, everything went dark, and she felt a strong arm envelop her. Looking up, all she saw was a refined jawline inches from her face.
โCome with me,โ Marion said reassuringly. His cloak concealed her as they quietly blended into the crowd. Thus, Juan lost sight of her.
Joe caught up with Juan and advised, โSir, you canโt act impulsively here. Itโs crowded, and it wouldnโt be good if you were recognized. Letโs leave.โ Juanโs gaze remained fixed on the far end of the crowd. Tracy had been there moments ago, but was now nowhere to be seen.
โSir, letโs go!โ Joe urged, fearing Tracy might reappear and provoke another reckless action from Juan.
Once outside the clubhouse, Juan ordered, โCall Debra. I need to know where she is.โ
โOkay.โ
Meanwhile, Marion escorted Debra to a safe corner, his vampire-like disguise almost comical despite the tense situation. She couldnโt help but smile, her nerves still on edge. Seeing her reaction, Marion smiled indulgently. โLaughing? You almost got caught.โ
โYou saved me. Besides, even if Juan had unmasked me, he might not have recognized me.โ Debra was confident about that. Marion reached out to adjust a strand of her hair. โJust be more careful.โ
โDebra!โ Ericaโs voice suddenly rang out nearby. Holding the hem of her dress, she rushed over and said, โJordan couldnโt find you, and heโs worried. Hurry up and change out of your clothes. Weโre going back.โ
โOkay,โ Debra nodded, her mind calculating the likelihood of Joe coming to look for her soon. After a quick change and removing her makeup, she followed Erica out of the dressing room. They bumped into Jordan, who had been searching for them.
โWhat are you guys doing here?โ he asked. โI lost sight of you right after we entered. Where did you go?โ
