Chapter 167

โ€œI went to the bathroom,โ€ Debra replied.

Jordanโ€™s cheeks flushed slightly, and he quickly turned away. โ€œLetโ€™s go. Thereโ€™s nothing more to do here.โ€

โ€œAlright, Iโ€™m bored too,โ€ she quickly agreed.

Jordan led them out. Erica winked at Randy, who received the signal and left the dance floor. Just as they stepped outside, Debraโ€™s phone rang. She glanced at the caller ID and raised an eyebrow. Thatโ€™s quick, she thought, recognizing Joeโ€™s number.

Erica asked, โ€œIs it Juan looking for you?โ€

The mention of Juanโ€™s name darkened Jordanโ€™s expression. Before Debra could react, he snatched the phone from her hand. โ€œDonโ€™t answer it!โ€ he declared, his voice filled with annoyance.

โ€œKnock it off, Jordan. Give it back,โ€ Debra said, reaching for the phone.

Jordan answered the call, barking, โ€œDebra is with me! Stop calling!โ€

Both Debra and Erica were stunned. He hung up and handed the phone to her awkwardly. Debra took the phone, her expression dazed. She had planned to make Juan believe she was celebrating Jordanโ€™s birthday, but she hadnโ€™t expected Jordan to reveal it so bluntly.

Erica stuttered, โ€œArenโ€™t you afraid Juan will cause you trouble?โ€

โ€œWhatโ€™s there to be afraid of? If anything comes up, Iโ€™ll take care of it.โ€ He paused and added, โ€œI mean, my brother will take care of it. Juan wouldnโ€™t dare challenge him.โ€

Erica shook her head. โ€œMen are foolish when they are in love. In this aspect, Jordan is just like Marion.โ€

Joe stared at the disconnected phone, his expression grim. Juan rubbed his temples wearily and asked, โ€œWhere is she?โ€

โ€œMrs. Nicholsโ€ฆโ€

โ€œSpill it!โ€

โ€œIt was Jordan who answered the call, saying Mrs. Nichols was with him and asking me not to call again.โ€

Juanโ€™s eyes snapped open, a dangerous glint flickering in their depths. โ€œDebra is still at the Pottersโ€™?โ€

Joe replied, โ€œAccording to our people, Mrs. Nichols hasnโ€™t left the house. She should still be at the Pottersโ€™.โ€

Juanโ€™s voice rose, his anger palpable. โ€œItโ€™s been a day. Does she want to stay there permanently?โ€

Joe suggested cautiously, โ€œShould we go and bring Mrs. Nichols back? Regarding what happened at the banquet yesterday, Mrs. Nichols did nothing wrong. Miss Miles lied, and you blamed Mrs. Nichols. We should bring her back.โ€

Juanโ€™s expression darkened, his voice sullen. โ€œDid nothing wrong? She came over and defended Jordan. She even teamed up with those outsiders against me. Does she still consider me her husband? Does she still see herself as Mrs. Nichols?โ€

Joe was scared into silence.

Juan continued sullenly, โ€œSend someone to bring her back now. If she refuses, she doesnโ€™t need to come back ever.โ€

Joe was torn. โ€œSirโ€ฆโ€

Juanโ€™s expression hardened, his voice unyielding. โ€œDidnโ€™t you hear what I said? If she doesnโ€™t want to be Mrs. Nichols, there are plenty of people who do.โ€

Joe bowed his head in resignation. โ€œOkay, Iโ€™ll arrange for Mrs. Nichols to be brought back.โ€

As midnight approached, Debra returned to the Pottersโ€™ residence, removing her makeup and changing her clothes. The birthday party was still in full swing, and no one showed any signs of leaving.
