Chapter 187
โErica!โ Debra quickly interrupted, shaking her head. โWhat happened?โ
Juan, sensing something was amiss, said solemnly, โI have no idea. The Fraziers were having a family banquet today. You should have called meโฆโ
โYou donโt know? Debra called you, but you didnโt pick up! Donโt you have a mouth? Canโt you ask questions?โ
โA call? What call?โ Juan looked bewildered. He had received no calls today.
Erica sneered, โHow ridiculous! Now youโre pretending to be clueless.โ
Anxiously, Juan explained, โDebra, listen to me, I really didnโt receive any callโฆโ
โI just wanted to inform you, not necessarily have you accompany me. Itโs fine that you didnโt pick up.โ
Not wanting to argue, Debra said, โIf you want to apologize, Iโm telling you I donโt blame you anymore. Can we leave now?โ
Juan fell silent, unsure what to say, and simply moved aside. Debra and Erica got into the car and drove away.
Watching them leave, Juan checked his phone. There were no missed calls. Frowning, he recalled waking up groggily that morning, seeing Sheila beside him in a state of undressโฆ
Rubbing his temples, Juan dialed Joeโs number. Joe answered promptly, and Juan instructed, โInvestigate whether anything happened at the Frazier family banquet today. Inform me immediately.โ
โYes, Mr. Nichols.โ
โAndโฆโ Juanโs tone turned cold, โCut off all funding to Sheila.โ
Previously, Mrs. Nichols Sr. had cut off her support, but Juan had later instructed Joe to continue supporting Sheila behind her back. Now, however, Juan felt he should have severed all ties with her from the start.
Meanwhile, upstairs, Sheila witnessed this scene through the window and went berserk, smashing everything on the table. The night before, she and Juan had been intimate, and she had hoped he would propose marriage. Instead, he had looked at her with disgust and left without a word! He had waited downstairs all night, solely for Debra!
โDebra! Itโs all because of Debra!โ Sheila threw away a scented candle. She had finally gotten Juan yesterday, but even in bed, all he could say was Debraโs name! Why? She refused to accept it.
โDing-ding.โ Sheila received a call from Joe. His voice was icy. โMiss Miles, Mr. Nichols has ordered someone to pack your belongings. Be prepared to move out.โ
Alert, Sheila asked, โMove out? Where am I supposed to go?โ
โMr. Nichols has cut off all your funding. Miss Miles, youโll be moving back to the dormitory.โ
Sheila was shocked. โNo way! He canโt do this to me!โ She couldnโt go back! She had boasted to her roommates, Wendy and Carrie, who were still in the dorm. She couldnโt become a laughingstock!
