Chapter 19
โThat woman is not simple, with her coquettish appearance, trying to steal your boyfriend. Shameless!โ Carrie snorted.
โI think that woman is quite good-looking,โ Wendy said. โShelia, you better watch out for your boyfriend. What if he gets stolen?โ
โNo way! Sheliaโs boyfriend loves her so much. He wonโt be stolen by that kind of woman,โ Carrie said.
โThank you for your concern, guys. Donโt worry. My boyfriend and I will be fine,โ Shelia smiled.
โI heard that woman is coming to our school to study finance. I guess sheโs coming after you,โ Wendy said.
โWhat?โ Shelia was taken aback. She found it hard to believe.
โItโs true. I asked some students from the admissions office. She was accompanied by the president and vice-president, obviously from a wealthy family. Probably trying to use connections,โ Wendy explained.
โWhatโs her identity then? Our school has never lacked wealthy students,โ Carrie said.
โI donโt know, but even if someone is wealthy, they havenโt been received by the president and vice-president like her, so she must be extraordinary,โ Wendy replied.
โSheโs so beautiful and wealthy, yet she wants to steal someone elseโs boyfriend. Strange.โ Their discussion made Shelia uneasy. If Debra came to study at Arcane Academy, then all her lies would be exposed.
Shelia associated Juanโs departure that morning with this matter. Just then, her phone rang. She went outside to answer it.
โThe nurse said youโve been discharged. What happened?โ Juan sounded concerned.
โI was worried about missing classes, so I came back,โ Shelia replied.
โStudying matters, but your health matters more. Donโt go to class just yet. Iโll ask Joe to help you with a leave of absence,โ Juan advised.
Shelia hesitated and asked, โI heard that Debra is coming to study at Arcane Academy. Is it true?โ
โWho told you?โ Juan asked.
โMy roommates,โ Shelia replied. โThey saw a pretty examinee at the school gate, and you received a call related to Debra, so I thought that Debra might be coming to our school.โ
โShe acted on her own. I wonโt help her. Donโt worry about this matter. Just focus on recovering,โ Juan reassured her.
Shelia breathed a sigh of relief. Without Juanโs help, Debra wouldnโt be able to pass the entrance exam.
โThereโs one more thing.โ
โGo ahead.โ
โMy birthday is the day after tomorrow. Can I invite you to dinner?โ Shelia asked expectantly.
โSure.โ
With Juanโs agreement, Sheliaโs face lit up with joy. In previous years, Juan always celebrated her birthday. This year, because of Debra, she had to prepare early.
