Chapter 200
In the meeting room, Juan approached Debra and whispered, โDebra, Iโm doing this for your good. Stay away from Marion and people like Tracy. They have ulterior motives when they get close to you.โ
Debra didnโt respond but stepped back. โMr. Nichols, if thereโs nothing else, I should leave now.โ
Debra was the first to exit the meeting room. As soon as she opened the door, she saw employees in the work area craning their necks to watch. A hint of jealousy flashed in Sheilaโs eyes, but her expression changed when she saw Juan coming out of the meeting room.
Walking in high heels, Sheila approached Juan with a bright smile. โJuan, hi!โ
Frowning, Juan wanted no interaction with Sheila. He was about to bypass her when she reached out and grabbed his arm. She behaved like a girlfriend being affectionate with her boyfriend.
โJuan, did you come to see me?โ Sheilaโs eyes were full of anticipation as Debra, not far away, silently observed the scene.
โDebra, do you like the tea?โ At that moment, Michael walked into the pantry and handed a piece of afternoon tea cake to Debra. Debra, feeling unsettled after Juanโs appearance, casually responded, โHmm.โ
When Juan looked up, he met Debraโs gaze and then glanced at Michael beside her. Debra seemed to treat every man except him kindly.
โJuan?โ Sheila, noticing Debraโs reaction, felt anxious. She didnโt want to become the subject of office gossip.
Feeling uncomfortable seeing Debra nearby, Juan forced a doting smile at Sheila. โYes, Iโm here to pick you up after work.โ
โGreat, Iโll leave early today. How about dinner together?โ Excitedly, Sheila took Juanโs arm. Observing this, Debra averted her gaze.
โWhatโs wrong? Are you feeling unwell?โ Michael placed his hand on Debraโs forehead, bringing them very close for a moment. Only Juan noticed that. The way Michael looked at Debra clearly showed the gaze of a man in love with his woman.
โJuan, letโs go!โ Sheila continued to act coquettishly.
โHmm,โ Juan responded with displeasure. Meanwhile, female employees began to show envious expressions towards Sheila. Being young, a graduate from a prestigious university, and having the CEO of the Nichols Group seemingly in love with her, Sheila seemed like a winner in life.
Outside the company, Sheila suggested, โHow about going to your favorite restaurant later?โ
The next moment, Juan coldly pulled away the hand Sheila was holding. Confused, Sheila asked, โJuan, whatโs wrong?โ
โThatโs enough. Are you not tired of acting every day?โ Juanโs voice turned icy. He knew Sheila had just put on a show in front of Debra and the other employees. He had warned Sheila before that they would have no further involvement. His cooperation was merely to gauge Debraโs reaction. However, Debra seemed completely indifferent towards him, showing no signs of jealousy.
โJuan, we were intimate once. Canโt we at least maintain some goodwill? Why are you so eager to distance yourself from me?โ Sheila was aware that Juan had just used her in the office.
