Chapter 25
Rosalie, not much older than Debra, was alluring. After divorcing his first wife, Ralph married Rosalie, who was viewed as a mistress by the Frazier family. Ralph adored Rosalie, so the others tolerated her. Rosalie always opposed Debra. In her last life, Debra tolerated Rosalie for Ralph's sake. But when the Frazier family went broke, Rosalie kicked Ralph out and took all his assets. This time, Debra wouldn't be lenient.
โRosalieโs not pleasant, but this is our family banquet. Youโve been married for a month, and Juan should have come,โ said a distant family member.
โYeah, should we call him? We can wait a bit more,โ others echoed.
Debra knew their intentions. They wanted to use this banquet to cozy up to Juan for business.
โIf you feel awkward, may I call on your behalf? Weโre family after all, and Juan will meet with us sooner or later.โ
Rosalie watched the proceedings. Everyone in Seamar City knew Debra and Juanโs marriage was a matter of convenience. Juan disliked Debra, but she had been clinging to him. Juan favored another woman.
โItโs alright. Juan canโt make it due to work. I donโt want to disturb him,โ Debra said.
โIs he working, or with someone else?โ Rosalie insinuated.
Debra gave her a cold glance. But Rosalie continued, โI saw him shopping for womenโs products with a girl today. It seems those things arenโt for you.โ
Ralph turned serious and frowned. โDebra, whatโs going on? Is Juan keeping a mistress?โ
โRalphโฆโ Debra wanted to explain when the door suddenly opened. Juan, in a suit, entered with his bodyguards, each holding a gift box.
โSorry, everyone. Iโm late,โ he said.
Surprised, Debra asked in a low voice, โWhy are you here?โ
Juan ignored her question and took her hand. โGot delayed picking gifts. Luckily, Iโm not too late.โ
Rosalie was shocked by Juanโs arrival. She had seen him at a womenโs store, with a girl.
Ralph eased up. โJuan, itโs good youโre here, but theseโฆโ
โMy gifts for everyone,โ Juan smiled. โI meant to surprise Debra, but I almost messed up.โ Then he glanced at Rosalie.
Rosalie said weakly, โI saw you shopping with a girl today. That couldnโt be a mistake.โ
