Chapter 281

The basement was gloomy and airless. Shelia had been there for only three hours, but the damp, heavy atmosphere was already chipping away at her sanity. โ€œLet me outโ€ฆ Let me out!โ€ she cried, her fists pounding against the solid door. Unfortunately, the thick walls swallowed her screams, rendering them useless.

After a while, the door creaked open, a sliver of harsh light slicing into the darkness. Before Shelia could feel relief, she saw her mother. Clarissa had been tortured for days and was teetering on the edge of a breakdown. Upon seeing the pitch-black room, she recoiled in fear.

โ€œNo, I donโ€™t want it,โ€ she whimpered, trying to back away. But her captors showed no mercy, throwing her into the room.

โ€œAh!โ€ Shelia jumped back, startled, as Clarissa writhed towards her. Terror gripped Shelia, and she shouted, โ€œWhat are you doing? Iโ€™m pregnant with Juanโ€™s child. You canโ€™t do this to me!โ€

Just then, Juan walked in. His sudden appearance brought a glimmer of hope to Shelia. She rushed towards him, clutching at his shirt. โ€œJuan, youโ€™ve finally come to see me. I can explain everything.โ€

โ€œNo need to explain,โ€ Juan cut her off, his voice colder and more unfamiliar than she had ever heard it. He crouched down, his eyes filled with icy disdain, as he grabbed her chin, tilting her face slightly. โ€œShelia, Iโ€™ve already figured out everythingโ€”impersonation, murder, all of it.โ€

The air seemed to freeze. Sheliaโ€™s mouth opened, but no words came out. She couldnโ€™t believe he had found out.

Chapter 201

โ€œNo, itโ€™s not me. I didnโ€™t reveal anything,โ€ Clarissa shook her head desperately. She had been tortured in the dark box for days but had kept silent. Juan had found out everything on his own.

Shelia felt all her strength drain from her body. She couldnโ€™t even move.

โ€œJuanโ€ฆโ€

โ€œYou dare to kill. What else would you be afraid of?โ€ Juanโ€™s sharp gaze pierced into her. โ€œIf it werenโ€™t for Debra falling into the sea and being saved by Marion, were you planning to keep this secret forever and use this child to get into my family?โ€

Shelia was terrified into silence by Juanโ€™s menacing stare.

โ€œShelia, youโ€™re so smart, arenโ€™t you?โ€ Juan said, standing up. He turned to Joe and ordered, โ€œSend them to the police station. Let the police handle it.โ€

โ€œYes, sir,โ€ Joe responded.

The bodyguards grabbed Shelia and her mother, dragging them out of the basement.

โ€œJuan! Juan! Iโ€™m carrying your child. Are you going to send the mother of your child to jail?โ€ she screamed desperately.

Juan showed no mercy. โ€œShut her up!โ€

โ€œYes, sir,โ€ Joe replied.

The bodyguards grabbed Shelia and Clarissa, dragging them up the basement corridor. Sheliaโ€™s cries were futile, muffled by the harsh hands of her captors.

โ€œShelia, help me!โ€ Clarissa pleaded in horror, but her words were cut off as her mouth was also stuffed.

Joe hesitated, wringing his hands. โ€œSir, if Mrs. Nichols Sr. finds out about thisโ€ฆโ€
