Chapter 367

Debra wanted to escape, but Marion had blocked every exit. โ€œDebra, answer me,โ€ Marion insisted. She looked up, seeing the sincerity and longing burning in his eyes.

โ€œIโ€”Iโ€™m not divorced yet,โ€ she stammered, her voice barely a whisper. โ€œOnce I am, Iโ€™ll give you an answer.โ€

Marion stroked her cheek. His touch was warm, almost feverish. His voice was deep and resonant. โ€œAlright, Iโ€™ll wait for you.โ€

Debra turned and opened the door, only to find Erica and Randy standing at the entrance, their ears practically pressed against it. Her face flushed crimson, and for the first time in a long while, she looked genuinely rattled. She grabbed her bag and hurried away.

โ€œIโ€™m going with you,โ€ Erica called, quickly following.

Randy slipped into the room, where Marion was buttoning his shirt. โ€œMan, youโ€™re such a flirt on the down-low. Who told you to confess now? You totally scared her off.โ€

Marion ignored Randy, his expression calm as he finished dressing and walked out of the bedroom. โ€œHey, Iโ€™m talking to you,โ€ Randy persisted, trailing after him. โ€œYou were way too hasty.โ€

Marion paused, his voice steady and heavy. โ€œIf I waited any longer, I was afraid she might run away.โ€

โ€œRun? Where could she go?โ€ Randy asked in confusion.

โ€œI donโ€™t know,โ€ Marion croaked. He knew Debraโ€™s heart was a fortress, hard to breach and quick to reject. Even when Juan had given up everything for her, she had remained unmoved. He feared that if he waited too long, Debraโ€™s heart would close off, leaving no room for him.

Debra and Erica were on their way back to the company when a black car suddenly blocked their path. Several bodyguards clad in black emerged, surrounding Ericaโ€™s car.

Erica stepped out, her expression stern. โ€œWho are you? What do you want?โ€

Debra exited the car as well, her eyes scanning the scene. โ€œThere are cameras everywhere. If youโ€™re here to kidnap us, youโ€™re not very professional. Just say it. Who wants to see us?โ€

One of the bodyguards stepped forward. โ€œOur lady wants to see you.โ€

โ€œYour lady?โ€ Erica echoed, puzzled. They knew many ladies in Seamar City, but none would dare stop their car so brazenly. Yet, with so many bodyguards, they had little choice but to comply.

Soon, Erica and Debra found themselves in a high-end restaurant, waiting for over an hour with no sign of their mysterious host. Ericaโ€™s patience wore thin, and she stood up. โ€œIs the lady coming or not? Do you think we have nothing better to do?โ€

Just then, a familiar voice rang out. โ€œDonโ€™t get so worked up, Miss Mathis. Iโ€™m here now.โ€

Moments later, Shelia appeared, draped in an expensive gown that sparkled with jewels. She looked every inch a wealthy lady.

Erica sneered. โ€œI thought it was someone important. So, itโ€™s you. What? Trying to show off Juanโ€™s power again?โ€

Shelia merely looked down her nose at them, her disdain palpable. Debra stood up and said to Erica, โ€œIt seems thereโ€™s nothing to discuss. Letโ€™s go.โ€

As she took a step towards the door, two bodyguards suddenly moved to block her path, their hands gripping her arms.
