Clearly, Jordan and Andrew shared a unique bond, though it was largely unknown to outsiders. Perhaps sensing Debraโs thoughts, Jordan turned away and said, โDonโt think you have me figured out.โ
โI donโt. Just talking randomly,โ Debra replied, standing up. โAlright, Iโve been here long enough. Can I go now?โ
Scowling, Jordan reached out to stop her. โWait.โ
โYouโve kept me here and threatened me. What else do you want?โ Debra asked.
That was his plan for revenge, but Debra hadnโt suffered any losses. On the contrary, Jordan had gotten the short end of the stick. Feeling depressed, heโd never been treated like this by any woman before.
โDo you know Juan has other women in Seamar City?โ he suddenly asked.
โI do,โ Debra replied casually. It was Sheila.
Debraโs indifference puzzled Jordan. โYou donโt care?โ
โItโs a business marriage. Whatโs there to care about?โ Debra shrugged. โAre you trying to drive a wedge between Juan and me?โ
Jordan snorted. โIโm just saying this man is unreliable. You two arenโt made for each other.โ
โI know that,โ Debra replied. Juan and she would get divorced sooner or later.
โThank you for your reminder anyway. Iโll take my leave.โ Debra waved at Jordan and turned to leave the private room. But before she could step out, Jordan took off his coat and threw it over her head.
โThere are too many people here. Take care of yourself. Donโt just follow anyone into their car,โ he said.
Debra knew he was referring to Colleen. She was aware of the relationship between the Potter and Wagner families; thatโs why she had dared to get into Colleenโs car. If it were someone else, she would have had a hundred doubts.
Debra smiled and said, โIโll take that as you caring about me.โ
Jordan rolled his eyes. This woman is overly confident, he thought.
Wearing Jordanโs jacket, Debra walked out of the nightclub, unaware that a nearby camera was focused on her.
Chapter 42
The next morning, Debraโs phone vibrated on the bedside table. Thinking it was her alarm, she picked it up and saw several missed call notifications from Juan, Joe, Ralph, and Marion. A sense of foreboding washed over her.
She called Juan back, but he rejected her call.

She then called Ralph, who answered quickly in an angry voice. โDebra! Where did you go last night?โ
โMe? Hung out with my classmates,โ Debra replied.
โDid you go to a nightclub?โ Ralph asked.
โHow did you know?โ Debra frowned.
โHow did I know? Someone posted your photos online, claiming youโre โloose,โ meeting a man in a nightclub late at night!โ Ralph replied.
Debra immediately hung up, opened an app on her phone, and saw a trending post titled โMrs. Nichols caught meeting a man in a nightclub late at night.โ Her mind raced. She wondered if it was Jordanโs doing, but it didnโt make sense. It wouldnโt benefit him, so it couldnโt be him. Then who?
Just then, Marionโs call came in. Debra answered, trying to sound calm. โAre you calling because of whatโs trending?โ
