Chapter 651
Drake gave no response. Debra asked again, โYou werenโt some kind of enforcer in the past, were you?โ
He came out of the bathroom and called out, โAnyone outside?โ
The door creaked open, and Lara entered with her head down. โYes, Mr. Lowe.โ
โHelp her change,โ he ordered, getting out.
Lara rushed to Debraโs side, tears streaming down her face: โMs. Frazier, are you okay?โ
โIโm fine. Thankfully, you understood my signal,โ Debra replied calmly.
Lara had heard everything outside. She glanced at Debraโs arm and whispered, โMs. Frazier, your armโฆ broke it myself.โ
โWhat?โ Laraโs eyes widened in shock. โIt wasnโt Peter?โ
โHeโs not a bull. No way would one hit dislocate my arm,โ Debra replied. But if Drake investigated it later, he might suspect her. A woman trying to seduce her way into a manโs favor was far less likely to ignite his protective instincts than one who was brave yet suffered unjustly right under his nose. She couldnโt risk Drake seeing through her plan.
โI know you did this for me,โ Lara said. โI swear I wonโt tell a soul.โ
Debra gave a small nod. โGood.โ A witness and the visible injury on her armโDebra had just set the perfect trap. She knew Drake wouldnโt believe a word from Peter after tonight.
Chapter 652
In the cabin, the doctor bandaged Peterโs leg. Two mercenaries entered without a word, grabbing Peter and dragging him out.
On the deck, Drake looked down at the bound Peter.
โSee, I swear, I didnโt do anything! It was Debra who seduced me. You know me. Iโve always been loyal to you; I would never lie to you,โ Peter stammered, mumbling all over.
Drake got up and stepped closer to Peter. โWe told you before: one should not touch my prey.โ
A cold sweat broke out on Peterโs forehead. โSir, Iโm innocent. I would never do that!โ
โLike people with guns rave anotherโฆ but peโฆ bassโฆโ
โThe lady owed me, and I saw somethingโฆ outโฆ 200โฆ Netteโฆ haveโฆ walkโฆ vanโฆ graustโฆ proteโฆโ
โInnocence?โ
โCameras. The ship has cameras. There must be footage.โ
Peterโs eyes lit up with desperate hope, but as the words left his mouth, reality struck him. The ship had no cameras.
Drakeโs grin widened just a fraction.
โSirโฆโ
โThere are no cameras, but plenty of witnesses. Bring them over.โ
โYes, sir.โ
One by one, the maids stepped onto the deck. Every one of them had been bullied by Peter before.
Drake demanded lazily, โTell me, what happened tonight?โ
