In the hospital, a doctor examined Juanโs wound. โMr. Nichols, the injury isnโt too serious, but you should avoid any strenuous activity. I recommend staying in for observation.โ
Juanโs mind was on something else. His phone buzzed, pulling his focus. He picked it up and saw an unread message from the night before: โ[Debra is being held by Drake in Flesta.]โ
His face paled instantly. Debraโs previous post had convinced him sheโd been rescued by Marion, but she had been captured by Drake.
โMr. Nichols, you canโt move around yet,โ the doctor advised as Juan threw off the blanket and climbed out of bed, gritting his teeth against the pain.
Out in the hallway, Joe rushed over to help him. โSir, where are you going? Let me handle it.โ
โGet a ticket to Flesta. Now,โ Juan said.
Joe hesitated. โSir, the companyโs in chaos. Mrs. Nichols Sr. has taken over your duties. You need to stay to manage things. You canโt just leave.โ
โMove.โ Juan shoved him aside.
Joe quickly caught up, trying to reason with him. โIf this is important, let me go in your place. I promise Iโll handle it.โ
โDebra has been taken by Drake. I have to go,โ Juan said.
Joe knew there was no way to stop Juan. With a deep sigh, he said, โAlright, sir. Please, just wait in your room for a moment. Iโll book the earliest flight and go with you.โ
Juan grabbed his shoulders. โGet the ticket as soon as possible.โ
He knew what kind of person Drake was. Anyone ending up in Drakeโs hands would not survive.
Joe nodded quickly. โOkay, rest assured.โ
But as soon as he was out of Juanโs sight, Joe hesitated. He pulled out his phone and called Melody.
โMrs. Nichols Sr., Mr. Nichols is insistent on heading to Flesta to find Ms. Frazier. His injuries are severe. I need your help to stop him.โ
At the Nichols Mansion, Melodyโs face darkened as she listened. When Joe finished, she hung up the phone without a word.
Melody couldnโt understand why Debra still had such a hold over Juan. Even after he got hurt because of her, Juan couldnโt stop worrying about her.
Violet, who had been observing anxiously, felt a chill at Melodyโs anger.
Melodyโs voice was like ice when she spoke. โHow did you do your task? Debra has run off to Flesta. Can your people handle this or not?โ
Violet stammered, โI was sure she would be at Seamar Cityโs docks. My people have been waiting there for days. No one expected her to escape to Flesta.โ
Seeing the storm brewing in Melodyโs eyes, Violet quickly added, โIโll send my men to Flesta immediately. She wonโt get away.โ
Melody hissed, โAlright, get moving.โ
โSure.โ Violet scurried out of the room.
Melody turned to Sophie. โGet my things ready. Iโm going out.โ
