In the hospital, a doctor examined Juan’s wound. “Mr. Nichols, the injury isn’t too serious, but you should avoid any strenuous activity. I recommend staying in for observation.”

Juan’s mind was on something else. His phone buzzed, pulling his focus. He picked it up and saw an unread message from the night before: “[Debra is being held by Drake in Flesta.]”

His face paled instantly. Debra’s previous post had convinced him she’d been rescued by Marion, but she had been captured by Drake.

“Mr. Nichols, you can’t move around yet,” the doctor advised as Juan threw off the blanket and climbed out of bed, gritting his teeth against the pain.

Out in the hallway, Joe rushed over to help him. “Sir, where are you going? Let me handle it.”

“Get a ticket to Flesta. Now,” Juan said.

Joe hesitated. “Sir, the company’s in chaos. Mrs. Nichols Sr. has taken over your duties. You need to stay to manage things. You can’t just leave.”

“Move.” Juan shoved him aside.

Joe quickly caught up, trying to reason with him. “If this is important, let me go in your place. I promise I’ll handle it.”

“Debra has been taken by Drake. I have to go,” Juan said.

Joe knew there was no way to stop Juan. With a deep sigh, he said, “Alright, sir. Please, just wait in your room for a moment. I’ll book the earliest flight and go with you.”

Juan grabbed his shoulders. “Get the ticket as soon as possible.”

He knew what kind of person Drake was. Anyone ending up in Drake’s hands would not survive.

Joe nodded quickly. “Okay, rest assured.”

But as soon as he was out of Juan’s sight, Joe hesitated. He pulled out his phone and called Melody.

“Mrs. Nichols Sr., Mr. Nichols is insistent on heading to Flesta to find Ms. Frazier. His injuries are severe. I need your help to stop him.”

At the Nichols Mansion, Melody’s face darkened as she listened. When Joe finished, she hung up the phone without a word.

Melody couldn’t understand why Debra still had such a hold over Juan. Even after he got hurt because of her, Juan couldn’t stop worrying about her.

Violet, who had been observing anxiously, felt a chill at Melody’s anger.

Melody’s voice was like ice when she spoke. “How did you do your task? Debra has run off to Flesta. Can your people handle this or not?”

Violet stammered, “I was sure she would be at Seamar City’s docks. My people have been waiting there for days. No one expected her to escape to Flesta.”

Seeing the storm brewing in Melody’s eyes, Violet quickly added, “I’ll send my men to Flesta immediately. She won’t get away.”

Melody hissed, “Alright, get moving.”

“Sure.” Violet scurried out of the room.

Melody turned to Sophie. “Get my things ready. I’m going out.”
