Chapter 659

โ€œMrs. Nichols Sr., are you heading to the hospital to see Mr. Nichols? Iโ€™ve prepared everything you asked for,โ€ Sophie replied. She had gotten the soup ready. But Melody headed back to the bedroom and pulled a pill from the drawer. Sophie didnโ€™t quite understand what was happening. Melody dropped the pill into the soup. Slowly, it dissolved without a trace.

โ€œMrs. Nichols Sr., what is this for?โ€

โ€œGet all the bodyguards here. Theyโ€™re to escort me to the hospital.โ€

โ€œGot it.โ€

In the hospital room, Juan had been waiting for over an hour, but Joe still hadnโ€™t come back. It was unusual, given how efficient Joe always was. Juan suspiciously got up from the bed and headed toward the door when footsteps echoed from the hallway.

โ€œMr. Nichols is resting inside,โ€ the doctor said respectfully.

Melody hummed in acknowledgment, and as she glanced up, her eyes locked on Juan standing at the door.

โ€œGrandma?โ€ Juan muttered in surprise.

โ€œJuan, I came to check on you,โ€ Melody said graciously.

Turning to the doctor, she grumbled, โ€œHow can you let him get out of bed with his injuries? Get him back.โ€

Juan frowned, realizing something wasnโ€™t right. He sneered, โ€œGrandma, why did you bring so many people?โ€

โ€œIโ€™m just making sure you donโ€™t wander off, my dear. You wouldnโ€™t want to end up stuck in a wheelchair like Andrew Potter,โ€ Melody replied, coming up to guide Juan back to the ward.

Juan glanced around and realized those were all Melodyโ€™s bodyguards. Knowing he couldnโ€™t leave now, Juan decided to play along and wait for Joe to come back.

Melody passed the thermos jug to him. โ€œI asked Sophie to make some soup for you. Have a try.โ€

Juan found it hard to decline the offer. He took it and had a spoonful of the soup.

Melody sighed softly. โ€œYour father loved this soup. Itโ€™s a shame Iโ€™m getting too old to cook as often as I did.โ€

The mention of his father instilled in Juan a sense of guilt. No matter what, Melody raised him. Melody looked at him and asked, โ€œJoe told me you were going to Flesta to find Debra. Is that true?โ€ Juanโ€™s head snapped up in shock. He never expected Joe to sell him out.

Melody continued, โ€œDebra is a walking disaster. Your father was ruined by your mother, and they died together. Unlike him, you always make me proud. I will never let you throw your life and career away for her.โ€

Juan felt a wave of dizziness wash over him. His vision blurred as Melody added, โ€œYou need to stay in the hospital and recover. Iโ€™ll take care of the company. When your leg heals and you regain your senses, Iโ€™ll return everything to you. Youโ€™re still the rightful heir.โ€
