“Aren’t you curious about how Kolton really died?”

Debra’s words stopped Chace in his tracks.

“What do you mean by that?”

“Everyone thinks he died of a heart attack, but the truth? Edgar killed him.”

Chace laughed, disbelief lacing his voice. “That’s ridiculous. Why would he kill his father?”

“You refuse because you never had a father, so you regarded Kolton as your father. The truth is that Kolton wanted to find Oscar. Edgar saw that as a threat to his position and deliberately caused Kolton’s death,” Debra said.

She was not making things up. It was something she’d picked up from a tabloid in her past life. Initially, due to the tragic love story between Edgar and Jade, Edgar’s image as a deeply loving man gained significant popularity. However, some tabloids dug into his past and exposed the existence of Oscar. She had the chance to read that article, which was written very convincingly. “Do you have any proof?” Chace asked.

“I know witnesses who were there the day Kolton died. If you don’t believe me, you can check with the reporters from the Integrity Press. They’ve got the facts,” replied Debra.

She had memorized the name of that news outlet. If Chace dug into it, he’d find all the pieces falling into place.

“I’ll look into it,” Chace said. “But if things are not like what you said…”

“I’ll publicly apologize to both you and Edgar, and I’ll take down Oscar. Satisfied?” Debra replied.

Her confidence shook Chace’s resolve.

Debra continued, “I wouldn’t have come to you without evidence. You don’t want Kolton’s death to remain a mystery, do you?”

Chace’s hands clenched into fists. If it was sure, then he was the devil’s advocate.

“You two sure have a lot to talk about.” Drake’s voice suddenly came over.

Debra looked back at him and replied calmly, “Just catching up with an old friend. Is it not allowed?”
