Chapter 711
โWhy did you stop me from teaching Sheila a lesson?โ Erica said, unable to contain her frustration.
With Marionโs influence in Seamar City, even if they had to face off against Juan, they wouldnโt lose a step. It was clear to everyone present that Sheila had deliberately tried to outshine Debra.
โDid you notice the fabric she picked?โ
โSatin?โ
โAnd the style?โ
โA mermaid dress.โ
Erica paused, finally catching on. Sheila had picked the same style as Debra, but the fabric she chose was different.
Erica mused, โAnd she wants to bedazzle the whole thing with rhinestones. My goodness! I canโt even imagine what itโll look like.โ
Debra grinned, โI need you to do me a favor. Talk to the designer and make sure they follow Sheilaโs instructions. Iโll cover the cost.โ
Erica gave her a thumbs up. โBrilliant. Absolutely brilliant.โ
The engagement party was just three days away, and given the tight deadline, there would be no time to fix anything if Sheilaโs dress ended up a disaster. If she wasnโt prepared with a backup dress, she would be a spectacle at the party. Debra chuckled inwardly, knowing that Sheila wasnโt familiar with clothing design.
While some high-end designer brands did create beautiful gowns, others were less than impressive. Sheila, who was not particularly well-endowed, would struggle to carry off certain high-end designs. By the time of the engagement party, she would have spent a lot of money, only to make a fool of herself. After the party, it would be interesting to see what the always critical and image-conscious Melody would say about her.
Just then, Debraโs phone buzzed with a message from Chace. She read the text and raised an eyebrow. Erica, noticing her reaction, asked, โWhat happened?โ
โEdgar hasnโt withdrawn from Seamar City,โ Debra replied. โSeems his greed knows no bounds.โ
His family was already on the verge of collapse, and yet Edgar still had his sights set on Seamar Cityโs markets. She couldnโt decide if it was sheer ambition or just plain foolishness. But either way, it didnโt matter. In just a month, when Edgar would be forced to pay the first installment of his loanโs interest, Debra planned to witness his inevitable panic firsthand.
Debra returned to her apartment. With the engagement party just around the corner, social media had been buzzing nonstop. The live stream from the island had garnered massive attention, turning her and Juan into an overnight celebrity couple with a dedicated following of fans. However, not everyone was happy when she and Marion announced their wedding plans shortly after the broadcast.
The comment sections were flooded with emotional fans.
[I thought the divorce agreement said they had six months left. I canโt believe these two are getting married separately.] [Iโm so obsessed with the couple. Canโt they just get back together already?] [And they announced their separate engagements not long after the show. This is killing me.]
On the other hand, the Marion-Debra shippers were having their little celebration, and soon enough, the two fan groups were at each otherโs throats.
Reading through the comments, Debra couldnโt help but shake her head in amusement. One comment, which had quickly risen to the top of the thread, caught her eye. [Debra and Marion are a match made in heaven. Fight me if you disagree.] She was almost certain that the comment came from Marion, hiding behind a fake account.
