Chapter 76
Inside the box lay six large, opened durians, emitting a pungent aroma.
โWhoa! Who the heck sent you a box of durians?โ exclaimed Erica. She picked up one, sniffed it, and nodded approvingly. โThese durians are good!โ Turning to the security guard, she asked, โWho sent these?โ
โA gentleman asked me to deliver them,โ he replied.
โA gentleman?โ Erica glanced at Debra and asked, โSomeone else is chasing after you?โ
Debra shook her head, having no idea who could have sent these durians. In her previous life, she had few interactions with men, especially after marrying Juan. She wondered who the sender might be.
โTsk, sending durians to a girl? What is he thinking?โ Erica remarked. โMarion is different. He never does something so silly.โ
Before Debra could respond, Marion called.
โHello?โ
โDid you get the stuff?โ Marion asked in a serious tone.
Debra glanced at Erica and then the durians in her hand, asking tentatively, โAre these durians from you?โ
โDo you like them?โ Marion asked.
Debra hesitated, unsure how to answer. โLike them? Well, durians are delicious, but why did he suddenly send durians to me?โ she wondered.
โErica likes them,โ Debra finally said.
โAnd you?โ
โMe too.โ
She glanced at Erica, who instantly realized all these durians were sent by her unknowing cousin. Grabbing the phone, Erica shouted, โMarion, this is a bad decision. Youโre clueless!โ Then she hung up the phone.
Debra was bewildered, unable to figure out why Erica was so upset. Erica said, โThis kid must have something wrong with his brain to send durians to a girl.โ
Debra laughed drily. โActually, Iโm craving durian.โ
โThatโs not the point!โ
โDidnโt you say she wanted to eat durian yesterday? Well, this is perfect.โ
Chapter 26
Debra went to get the durians, lest Erica get mad at Marion. Erica was frustrated, wondering who the heck came up with this idea for Marion.
โDebra, donโt misunderstand, Marion doesnโt usually interact with girls; he doesnโt know how to please them. This canโt be his idea.โ
โI know.โ Marion wouldnโt send her durians for any good reason.
Erica was perplexed. โYou know?โ
โNeedless to say, this must be Randyโs idea.โ
After Debraโs reminder, Erica immediately understood. It made sense. Besides Randy, who else could come up with such a bad idea?
Erica was irritated. โWait here. Iโll go find him.โ
Debra couldnโt stop Erica. In her pajamas and slippers, Erica stormed out. About to follow, Debra found her knocking on the next door.
โRandy! Come out! Randy!โ Erica called out.
