Chapter 920
โDrake, slow down.โ
Drake didnโt respond but slowed his steps slightly. In the center of the second floor was a large platform, usually reserved for performances. Today, however, Drake had a three-seater sofa placed there.
โSit,โ he said.
Suspicion clouded Debraโs expression. โYouโre not planning to pull some kind of prank on me, are you?โ
Drake smirked. โYour lifeโs already in my hands. Why would I bother?โ
Debra took her seat, while Drake snapped his fingers, the sharp sound echoing in the room. She cocked her head, eyeing him warily. โWhatโs this? A magic show?โ
Suddenly, all the lights went out. Marion slipped into the venue unnoticed, his presence as silent as a shadow. The crowd didnโt panic. Instead, a strange, festive atmosphere settled over the place.
Drakeโs voice came from somewhere behind Debra. โI once told you Iโd show you a glimpse of the future. Tonight, consider it a preview of the Lowe Playground. Since weโre partners now, I figured itโs only fair to show you something exciting.โ
Debra felt a sudden chill and caught a whiff of something sweet and fragrant. Downstairs, Juan held his breath and quickly stepped out of the dangerous zone. In a corner of the room, Marion covered his nose and moved further into the shadows.
โWhatโs that smell?โ Debra muttered, wrinkling her nose. The sweetness was sickening, and her head spun faintly from the intensity.
Before she could react further, crimson lights bathed the hall. Standing on the platform, Drake surveyed the room like a king overseeing his domain. Then a group of scantily-dressed women emerged, their movements languid and deliberate.
Debra gasped in shock, trying to escape from the obscene scene, but Drakeโs hand shot out, firmly keeping her in place on the sofa.
โYouโve lied to me so many times. Iโve lost count. Iโve got no choice but to use you as bait now.โ
Chapter 920
โWhat are you talking about?โ
A sudden spotlight snapped on, bathing them in a stark white beam.
โRight now, every signal in the Legacy Hotel is being jammed. If this is all just an act, thereโs no way Marion will sit by and let you face the danger alone,โ Drake said, grabbing her shoulders. Then he shouted toward the first floor, โMarion, show yourself. Or Debra might not survive the night.โ
From his hidden spot, Marion clenched his jaw. Drake continued, โIโll start counting now.โ His face twisted into a sadistic smile. โThree.โ His hands slid to Debraโs neck. โTwo.โ
Down below, Juan discreetly reached for the gun tucked in his waistband. Drake leaned in and whispered to Debra, โIf I count to one and he doesnโt show up, Iโll believe you. But if he doesโฆโ
โYouโll kill me?โ
โIโll throw you off.โ
