Chapter 93
“Madam! You’re finally back!” Debra rarely saw Sophie so emotional. Clearly, she had suffered greatly in the past few days.
“Sophie, is Juan home?”
“Yes, Mr. Nichols is home,” Sophie hesitated, then added, “But that vixen is here too.” Mentioning Shelia made Sophie grit her teeth in hatred.
Debra was surprised Shelia remained after Melody’s intervention. Juan must truly favor Shelia, defying even his grandmother’s wishes.
Debra tried the fingerprint scanner at the front door, but it failed.
“Mr. Nichols changed the lock codes last night,” Sophie explained, then entered the new code, granting Debra access.
Juan was in the living room with Shelia, who was studying under his patient guidance. They appeared like a couple in love.
Sophie cleared her throat and announced in a strained tone, “Sir, Mrs. Nichols is back.”
Juan glanced at Debra indifferently, as if she were a stranger. “Who allowed you to enter my house?” he questioned disdainfully.
“Juan, take it easy. Maybe Debra left something behind,” Shelia said, smiling sweetly at Debra. “You could have asked Sophie to mail it to you.”
Debra ignored her and asked Juan, “You didn’t go to the office today?”
Juan snorted, “Who are you to ask?”
“I’m not trying to control you. Joe called, saying he couldn’t reach you, so he asked me to deliver a message.”
“I’m busy now,” Juan said nonchalantly.
Debra looked at Shelia, who was asking Juan for help with her studies. “Busy with this?”
Shelia chimed in, “I asked Juan to help me because my grades dropped.”
“You don’t need to explain to her,” Juan said gently, patting Shelia’s head. “Focus on your work.”
Shelia blushed and resumed her studies. Debra grew impatient. “Juan, the company is yours, not mine. If Joe hadn’t called, I wouldn’t have returned. Whether you go to the office or not is none of my business.”
She turned to leave, pausing to add, “I’ll have the divorce papers drawn up soon. Please sign them when you receive them.”
Juan froze at her words.
Shelia couldn’t hide her excitement. She had been waiting for this moment. “Debra and Juan are finally getting divorced!”
