Chapter 932
โSir, what should we do with these people? Should we get rid of them?โ asked one of Marionโs men.
Debra cut in, โWhat?โ
Marion cleared his throat. โDonโt talk nonsense. When have I ever taken care of anyone?โ
โHuh?โ The man blinked, confused.
They always handled things decisively and left no loose ends.
โTie them up,โ Marion ordered. โHold them for now. And take care of the surveillance footage.โ
โShould we smash the cameras?โ asked the man.
Debra felt helpless. โSeriously?โ
Marion shot his subordinate a glare. โErase the footage. Who told you to smash anything?โ
โI thought simple and brutal was the way to go,โ the man muttered, scratching the back of his head.
Debra cast a sidelong glance at Marion. โIs this how you usually handle such things?โ
He put on an innocent look. โNo, itโs their approach, not mine.โ
The denial was so swift and complete that his men all froze in disbelief. Usually, they only acted on Marionโs explicit orders. Without his go-ahead, they wouldnโt dare move a muscle.
Debra raised an eyebrow. โLetโs handle this first. Weโll talk about it later.โ
Marion nodded, turning to his men. โYou heard the lady. Get it done, and later weโll discuss your mistakes.โ
His men were dumbfounded.
All the maids and security guards were led to the living room. They crouched in the corner with their hands on their heads.
Debra asked them, โWhere is Lara being held?โ
Chapter 922
The head guard stammered, โMr. McLean was the one who locked her up. We donโt know.โ
โDonโt know or donโt want to say?โ Debra asked sharply.
โWe really donโt know,โ replied the guard honestly.
Marion spoke up. โLetโs search the estate. It shouldnโt be too hard to find her.โ
Debra turned to him. โNot too hard? The place is huge. Even if you had a hundred men, itโd still take three hours to find someone.โ
The estate wasnโt just a mansion with a garden. There was a front courtyard, a rear greenhouse, a pool, an open-air sports court, and a gym. The property sprawled across several acres, boasting over a hundred rooms spread across six floors. And that wasnโt even counting the wine cellar or the parking garages.
Although she had been staying here for a few days, she could confidently say that the moment she stepped out of her bedroom, sheโd get lost within fifty feet.
The labyrinthine layout even made it plausible that Drake had secret areas designed specifically for imprisoning traitors.
Furthermore, Drake was out on some business. If he returned within the hour and they hadnโt found Lara, there was no avoiding a violent confrontation.
They needed a faster way to locate her.
As she was trying to figure out a solution, Marion pulled out his phone to make a call.
โYeah,โ he said into the phone. โThe more, the better. At least a hundred. You have minutes.โ
Debra stared at him, baffled. โWhat are you doing?โ
He shrugged. โCalling reinforcements.โ
