Chapter 934
Debraโs lips tightened into a thin line. โLooks like I underestimated you. Turns out, youโre not as dumb as you act.โ
โThanks for the compliment.โ
โThat wasnโt a compliment.โ
Drakeโs gaze flickered to where Marion held Debraโs hand, his smirk fading. โI have to hand it to you, Marion. If Debra had followed Lara upstairs just now, she would have been my hostage. I thought your time away from overseas mightโve dulled your edge, but youโre just as annoyingly sharp as ever.โ
โIโm flattered,โ Marion replied calmly. โAfter all these years, I still canโt outmatch your underhandedness.โ
Drake chuckled and perched himself on the armrest of a nearby sofa. โWell, letโs skip the small talk. I donโt like traitors, and you know that. If you hadnโt shown up, I mightโve let this drag out a bit longer for fun. But since youโre here, youโre not leaving.โ
Around the villa, his men were already in position, and Marionโs special team was being held at bay.
Marion glanced at his smug expression and said evenly, โYou seem to forget something.โ
Drake raised an eyebrow. โOh? Enlighten me.โ
Marionโs voice remained calm, almost bored. โThis place is technically my turf, not yours.โ
Right on cue, the sound of car horns blared outside the gates.
As Drake listened, his unease grew. Kale also felt something was off. โBossโฆโ
Marion continued, โOn my turf, I can call in as many people as I want. And since I figured you might try something clever, I came prepared.โ
Screams then echoed from outside the estate. Drake bolted upright, striding toward the window. He looked out and saw the sea of people flooding past his defenses.
โYou gotta be kidding me!โ he barked, his face stormy.
The sheer number of Marionโs reinforcements left Drakeโs people trembling.
Debra crossed her arms, coming to a conclusion. Drake might be cunning, that smart.
โBoss, let it go,โ Kale whispered.

If this escalated into an all-out fight, it wouldnโt just be a disaster.
Drake clenched his jaw. โThis is your turf, and Iโll give you that. But think twice. Without my supply, Debra will suffer from the withdrawal reaction.โ
But the mention of drugs only served to fuel Marionโs anger. Heโd seen the toll they took on her firsthand. Even though heโd exacted revenge on Drake, it never felt like enough.
Before he could react, Debra suddenly laughed.
โOh, donโt worry about me. Iโm in excellent health, thanks to the small dose you gave me.โ
โYouโre fine?โ
โI quit.โ
โYou quit?โ
โWhy the surprise?โ
Drake didnโt believe her for a second. Drugs were not alcohol. People couldnโt just quit them like they wanted.
