“So, you never relapsed. You and Marion set a trap, and I walked right into it?” Drake growled.

“Well, you’re smart at times,” Debra replied. “So, can we leave now?”

Drake fumed, and she feigned a sudden realization. “Oh right, I don’t even need to ask you.” She turned to Marion and smiled, “Honey, let’s go.”

“Sure,” Marion replied, stepping beside her. His man pressed a knife to Lara’s neck, forcing her to leave with them.

“Boss…” Lara trembled in fear, but Drake didn’t even glance at her. His indifference to her safety rattled her.

Drake demanded, “You can take her, but you must clean up this mess.”

Marion waved his hand without looking back. “A cleaner will be here in an hour.”

Debra watched them leave with burning hatred.

Kale whispered, “Boss, are we really letting them go with Lara?”

“Can you beat him?”

“I can’t.”

“Or do you think our men can take on his crew?”

“They can’t.”

“So, what else can we do?”

Kale fell silent. Drake had thought he had seen through Debra’s trick, but in the end, he had been outmaneuvered by Marion and her.

Kale hesitated. “But Lara knows our operations inside out. If they interrogate her…”

“They won’t find out anything,” Drake asserted. “There’s no evidence. Her word alone proves nothing.”

“She has the phone.”

“The phone has nothing on it. Or else, I wouldn’t have let her go.”

When he first kidnapped Debra, she stole Peter’s phone. She thought he didn’t know.

In truth, after they left the ship, Lara told him everything. He hadn’t been concerned because the phone held no incriminating evidence. He had even used the phone as bait.

When Debra was captured again, she seemed genuinely remorseful, and Lara never mentioned Debra trying to retrieve the phone. So, he had just assumed Debra was trying to get revenge for the kidnapping. Little did he know, he was the one who had been played the whole time.

It infuriated him to no end.

At the Eaton Mansion, Garland was on the phone. “Alright, got it.”

Ending the call, he turned to Juan, who sat deep in thought. “I just got word that your ex-wife left the Lowe Mansion with her current husband. There wasn’t a big fight, so don’t worry.”

Juan glared at him. “Next time, just mention their names.”
