Chapter 964

Juan rubbed his temples, feeling a headache coming on. He must have sinned in a past life to end up teaching someone like Garland.

“Are you feeling unwell?”

“Being your mentor is the biggest regret of my life.”

Juan turned and left the room, leaving Garland dumbfounded. The door slammed shut behind him. Garland muttered incredulously, “But you said I was doing well.”

Juan drove to the Legacy Hotel and saw Drake standing in the cold. His jacket and tie had been torn off. He was directing a tow truck to take away his beloved car. He felt a pang of envy as the Porsche pulled up. Juan rolled down the window, taking in his sorry plight. “Mr. Lowe, having a rough day?”

Drake couldn’t muster a smile. “The whole fucking world is against me.”

Kale opened the car door for Juan. “Please, Mr. Nichols.”

“Park the car in the underground garage. I don’t want anyone to mess with my wheels,” Juan said.

That was adding insult to injury. Drake cursed under his breath, “Debra’s bad taste in men!”

Drake took a deep breath, trying to calm himself. “Have you heard Fermin caused a scene at my engagement party tonight?”

Juan nodded. “It’s all over the media. Videos, photos, and articles were released fifteen minutes ago. Hard to miss.”

“What?” Drake pulled out his phone and saw the news.

“Boss, I’ll have the news taken down,” Kale offered.

“Too late. The news has spread, and everyone knows,” Drake growled. “Next time I see Fermin, I’ll make him pay.”

Juan remained silent, thinking that Garland and Drake were equally stupid.

Drake looked up at Juan. “Fermin took all my spies. Do you have anything to say about that?”

Juan replied calmly, “I don’t even know them. You wouldn’t suspect me, would you?”

Drake pressed, “You might not know them, but you know my operations. With your abilities, it wouldn’t be hard to find out more. Besides, it was your idea for me to get engaged to Cathryn. Now look at this mess. It’s hard not to suspect you.”

“So, you called me here to blame me,” Juan sighed. “It was my idea, but you made the decision. Besides, my family has no influence here. I couldn’t possibly know your contacts. And I have no connection to the Eaton family. How would I know Fermin would target you?”

Drake was about to argue, but Juan continued, “Your tense relationship with Miss Eaton caused the whole mess. You can’t just blame me for your mistakes.”
