Chapter 966

At the Houston Mansion, Debra took a shower and lay on the bed to scroll through the news. “The article has garnered 100 million views. Drake is on the trend,” she muttered. With this farce, Drake would find it hard to stay there any longer. Without the support of the Eaton family or the resources of the Bernard family, he stood no chance against Marion.

Marion emerged from the bathroom, toweling his hair. “Now that most of the issues here have been resolved, we’re heading back to Seamar City in a couple of days.” He wrapped his arms around Debra and added, “It’s time to get our marriage certificate.” Debra recalled the events of the past few days. The crisis had been resolved too quickly to be true. She leaned against Marion’s chest and said, “I’m not sure about the situation yet.”

“Doubting my capabilities?”

“No, but I think I saw someone at the banquet hall.”

“Who was it?”

“It was Juan,” but she didn’t feel like talking to Marion about him. So, she shook her head and said, “Never mind. Maybe I was mistaken.”

Juan had come overseas alone. If he had shown up at Drake’s engagement party, he would have stepped into the limelight instead of hiding in the corners.

“Forget it, then,” Marion said, gently rubbing her head. “I’ll have Randy book our tickets.”

Debra nodded, relieved that the crisis was over. The Eaton family seemed to hold no grudge against Marion. Most importantly, they had ruined Drake and Liza’s engagement. Drake couldn’t cause any more trouble. It was indeed time to go back.

Chapter 906

In Seamar City, Erica arrived at the McKinney Group headquarters. She entered the CEO’s office with breakfast and found Randy buried under a mountain of files. She reached out and poked his arm. Randy jumped up like a spring.

“Meeting. I’m going to be late,” he exclaimed, before realizing there was no meeting scheduled. He sighed in relief. Erica saw the dark circles under his eyes. She said, “You haven’t slept all night? Why don’t you take a day off?”

“Erica, you’re the only one who cares about me,” Randy dramatically lamented. With Debra and Marion away, the pressure of managing three companies had fallen squarely on his shoulders. And this wasn’t even their honeymoon yet. He couldn’t imagine his days when they got married and went on a real honeymoon.

Erica soothed him, “There, there. Once you finish these, you can take a break.”

Randy looked at the files and fell into despair. Erica placed a thermos of soup in front of him. “I made this soup for you. Stay strong! You can do it.”
