“Actually, I’m not too sure,” Lina said, “but I just ran into Zoe. She mentioned Jason supporting you, and seemed to think you were together. However, the only man who’s appeared beside you is Jay. So, I wondered if ‘Jay’ could actually be Jason?”

Jay’s appearance didn’t suggest homelessness. Conversely, finding photos of Jason online was impossible. I searched earlier and only found distant or rear shots; nothing showing his face clearly.

Grace felt Lina’s voice fading. She knew Jay wasn’t ordinary—perhaps very wealthy and influential. They were from different worlds. But she never imagined Jay could be Jason.

After the call, Grace stared through the glass door at his silhouette. She had seen Jason’s back online and thought it resembled Jay’s. They were the same person; of course their backs were similar!
