Chapter 151
Even when she tried to kiss him, he refused. This made her uneasy. After all, he constantly changed girlfriends; everyone knew he tired of them every few months.
Evelyn was determined to win his heart. She needed to ingratiate herself, wanting to remain by his side. The longer she stayed, the more she could gain. Having grown accustomed to his comfortable lifestyle, she didn't want to return to her former life.
Evelyn glanced at Brian's handsome face. He easily captivated women, and she was no exception. She desired closeness, not only for the good life he provided, but for himโfor intimacy. When his almond-shaped eyes met hers, her heart throbbed. She felt stirred and desired him intensely. She would use any means necessary to keep him.
"My friend is here. Let me introduce you," Brian said.
"Sure," she replied submissively.
Surely his friend would be wealthy and respectable! However, she was stunned by Brian's friend.
"Is this manBrian's friend? He resemblesthe man I saw in Grace's apartment!"
Brian's friend's attire was different; his bangs were swept back, revealing a smooth, full forehead, unlike the man in the apartment whose bangs covered his forehead.
"They can't be the same person!"
As this thought crossed her mind, Brian whispered, "Evelyn, this is Jason. You can offend anyone in Emerald City, but not him. If you do, even I can't protect you."
Although Brian spoke casually, Evelyn was thunderstruck. He had always protected her since their relationship began, and never hinted at not doing so.
"Is this Jason? The man known throughout Emerald City, yet whose photo never appears online?"
Jason lazily raised his eyebrows, looking at Evelyn. She quickly smiled and greeted him, "Mr. Reed, nice to meet you. I'm Evelyn."
Jason curled his lips into a derisive smile. "I see. It's you, Evelyn. I hadn't expected to meet you again."
