Chapter 226
As the man approached, his face became clearer in the camera. When Grace saw him, the rice she was chewing nearly shot out of her mouth. It was Jason!
He was wearing a black suit, tall and neatly groomed. He looked like a dashing young man. Only the scarf around his neck and matching gloves seemed out of place with the suit.
Viewers of the influencer's livestream flooded the comments section:
"Who is this man?" "He's not a celebrity, but he's so handsome! I'm smitten!" "No way he's not a celebrity! I'd be a huge fan if he debuted!" "Quick, interview him! I'm dying!" others urged.
The influencer grinned at the camera. "Let's do an interview! I hope he's willing to talk!"
She took a few steps forward, but the cameraman remained behind. She turned back, joking, "Come on, cameraman, too tired to walk?"
A quivering voice replied, "That that's Jason. That man is Jason"
The influencer, incredulous, gasped, "Quick! Cut the video! Stop filming!"
But it was too late. The audience erupted.
Many recognized Jason. The Reed family's businesses touched nearly every aspect of their lives. However, Jason disliked being photographed; an unwritten media rule dictated only vague, distant shots of him were permitted. This influencer had captured his face, crystal clear, in a live-streamed video.
"Oh my god, Jason looks like this! He's gorgeous!" "I'm swooning!" "He's my husband now!" "No one's stealing my husband!"
Comments poured in until the livestream ended. Soon, however, Grace found a recording of the stream; it was already rife with comments. Besides admiring Jason's appearance, many speculated on his hasty departure. Some meticulously analyzed his rapid pace in the video, suggesting urgency.
Theories abounded: Was something wrong with the Reed Group? Or with Old Master Reed, whose lengthy hospital stay had been widely reported?
