Chapter 251

Evelyn focused her hatred solely on Grace. Had it not been for Grace, she wouldn't have suffered such humiliation that day. It was all Grace's fault, and she vowed revenge.

Inwardly, Evelyn raged, but outwardly, she remained kneeling. She couldn't afford to offend Jason, and with Brian now her supporter—her intended future boyfriend—confrontation was impossible.

Only when Evelyn knelt before her did Grace frown. She stepped back, turned to the visibly frightened director, and said, "I'm sorry, Director. I can't participate in today's scene. You don't need to pay me. I'm leaving."

"Alright" the director stammered.

Grace headed for the dressing room, followed by Jason. Brian watched them go, a sharp glint flashing in his eyes.

Seeing them leave, Evelyn wanted to rise, but Brian smoothly intervened, "Go on, I didn't let you finish. What's the hurry?"

Stunned, Evelyn saw the seriousness in Brian's expression. He wanted her to continue groveling. If Jason had defended Grace, was Brian doing the same?

This possibility fueled an overwhelming panic, far greater than her fear of Jason. Under the scrutiny of countless eyes, Evelyn continued kneeling, Brian's unwavering demeanor confirming her fears.

The only solace was no longer kneeling before Grace. However, Brian idly played with a bracelet, seemingly oblivious to her presence. The bracelet was his sole focus.

In the dressing room, Jason stopped Grace. "Why did you leave? You don't like the sight of your so-called 'sister' kneeling?"

"I have no interest in it," Grace replied. Evelyn's enjoyment of her humiliation didn't necessitate her own participation in such spectacles.

"Is your anger satisfied? If not, I can help you vent it further. What do you want Evelyn to do?" Jason asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Why are you defending me?" she asked curiously.

"Because you're my sis," he smiled. "You were bullied; of course I'll defend you."

His use of "sis" only irritated her further. "There's no need. I don't need anyone's defense," she said, entering the dressing room.

Even with his support, what about next time? Relying on others would eventually fail, leaving her vulnerable to an even greater blow.
