Chapter 254

โ€œWell, then I wonโ€™t touch her,โ€ Brian said. โ€œSheโ€™s not the one Iโ€™m looking for, anyway.โ€ However, it was hard to deny she resembled his target. Sometimes, when he looked at her, he imagined her as that person grown up.

Nevertheless, she only resembled her; she wasn't her.

โ€œWhat if she is the one youโ€™re looking for? Will you do something then?โ€ Jason asked, raising his eyebrows.

Brianโ€™s face remained impassive, but his phoenix eyes seemed to ripple with something unseen. โ€œIf she is, I wonโ€™t let go, even if I have to compete against you.โ€

Jason squinted. โ€œSo itโ€™s a good thing sheโ€™s not, right?โ€

โ€œYes. Fortunately, sheโ€™s not,โ€ Brian said, turning away. Fortunately, she wasn't her. If she were, things would be considerably more difficult.

Brian pondered this, unconsciously reaching into his pocket for his bracelet. How long until he found her? Finding her had become an obsession.

When Grace emerged from the dressing room, only Jason and a bodyguard were waiting.

โ€œAre you done?โ€ Jason noted her usual clothes, hair in a ponytail, makeup removed. Her bare face looked far more flattering.

โ€œYes,โ€ Grace replied.

โ€œLetโ€™s go, then,โ€ Jason said, naturally reaching for her hand.

She instinctively withdrew her hand.

He raised an eyebrow, his black eyes fixed on her. โ€œWhy? You donโ€™t want to?โ€

โ€œIโ€ฆ can walk by myself.โ€

โ€œI prefer to hold your hand,โ€ Jason said, reaching for her hand again. "It's difficult for 'Sis' to go anywhere if I hold you like that."

His casual tone sent a shiver down her spine. He seemed to be weaving a web of control around her life. She didnโ€™t want a future with a man like him. She couldnโ€™t understand him, let alone his motives. If she displeased him, her fate might be worse than her three years in jail.

Grace tried to pull her hand free. Sheโ€™d barely moved before his grip tightened.

โ€œOh,โ€ she exclaimed, her eyebrows furrowing. She felt a sharp pain on the back of her hand.

โ€œDid I hurt you?โ€ he asked softly, his fingers loosening slightly. Heโ€™d forgotten about her still-healing wound.

She bit her lip. โ€œItโ€™s all right. You can let go now.โ€
