Chapter 259
โNo,โ Grace said lightly. โI have a friend waiting for me outside, so I have to go soon.โ
โHey, take it easy,โ Andrea Schwartz added. โYou donโt have a boyfriend now, do you? My boyfriend is a professor at the university and knows a lot of people. Why donโt you let him introduce you to a few men?โ
She said this as she followed Grace out of the washroom. Then, Andrea Schwartz called to a man of medium build standing outside. He promptly approached.
Grace looked at the approaching man. He looked average, but a little older, perhaps late 40s. This was obviously Andrea Schwartzโs boyfriend.
โBanghe, this is my ex-colleague, Grace. I ran into her in the washroom,โ Andrea Schwartz said. โGrace, this is my boyfriend, Tyler Barber. Heโs a professor at Yuren University.โ
Andrea Schwartz sounded ostentatious.
Tyler Barber quickly corrected her. โIโm only an associate professor.โ
โIn two years youโll be a professor,โ Andrea Schwartz said disapprovingly. She then asked Grace, โDidnโt you say your friend is waiting outside? Where are they?โ
Grace looked up and didnโt see Jason. Did he leave already? she wondered.
Andrea Schwartz assumed Grace had used that as an excuse. โWhy donโt we find somewhere to sit? My boyfriend can see if he has someone in mind for you. Heโs mentioned that marriage is a big problem for some logistics department workers at his university. There should be someone your age there.โ
Andrea Schwartz seemed embarrassed as she continued, โYou donโt mind going on a blind date with workers, do you? I want to introduce you to some single lecturers at Bangheโs university, but you know they usually prefer someone with a clean record. That might be a problem, but rest assured, although the logistics workers arenโt well-paid or highly educated, theyโre hardworking and keep to themselves.โ
Grace found this amusing. She had never expressed a desire for a date, but Andrea Schwartz seemed to think she desperately wanted one.
โI donโt want any blind dates,โ Grace said firmly.
Andrea Schwartzโs eyes widened. She stared at Grace in disbelief. โYou donโt mind me introducing you to a logistics worker? Grace, itโs not the same as before. You need to lower your expectations. If you donโt go on blind dates at your ageโฆโ
โWhy, is someone setting you up on a blind date?โ A voice interrupted, seemingly cutting Andrea Schwartz short.
Jason, wearing a trench coat, approached Grace and handed her a glass of milk tea. โI heard you say you wanted to try this brand. I saw it, so I got you one. See if you like it; if not, weโll get another later.โ
Grace took the warm milk tea, her hands warming slightly. She glanced at the brand name. Sheโd seen it in the news; the store had recently opened in Emerald City. She mentioned to Jason that the milk tea was quite popular online.
