Chapter 267
"Here, sit down first," Tony Cummins said.
Grace sat down and asked, "Where are you going to move Mom's grave?"
"There's no hurry," Tony Cummins said, waving a hand. "Let's talk about you and your sister first. I'm going to be a peacemaker for you two today. No matter what happened before, you're still sisters. As the older sister, you must take care of your younger sister."
Grace frowned. "I just want to know where you're moving my mother's grave."
Tony Cummins was upset. "Didn't I say we'll talk about this later? Let's talk about you and your sister first."
Evelyn looked sincere. "Sis, if I've done something wrong, don't take it to heart. I apologize."
Grace remained defensive. Evelyn's behavior only exacerbated the situation.
Tony Cummins's next words revealed Evelyn's intentions. "Alright, you'll always be sisters. You can't hurt each other over a man," he said to Grace. "Brian is your sister's boyfriend. You can't interfere with their relationship. Besides, aren't you close with Jason now? You shouldn't get between your sister and Brian."
Grace finally understood. "I'm not interested in what's going on between her and Brian. I just want to know where you'll be moving my mother's grave."
Tony Cummins fumed. "Are you refusing? Do you really want to come between Evelyn and Brian? I'm telling you, if you ruin Evelyn's relationship, forget about paying respects to your mother's grave for the rest of your life!"
Grace stared coldly at her father. "It's not up to me to refuse or not. If Brian truly likes her, no one can take him away. If he's not serious, she won't be able to keep him, no matter how hard she tries."
Melinda Riley interjected anxiously, "What do you mean? Are you cursing our Evelyn because you can't marry Jason? Our Evelyn is not like you. She's innocent, has no criminal record, and will be a great actress, unlike you."
"Since you think she's so different, let her win Brian on her own," Grace said coldly.
She questioned Brian's motives. Was his affection for Evelyn genuine? She doubted it. If it were, he wouldn't have allowed Evelyn to kneel on set in front of everyone. Even if it was Jason's idea, Brian, with his background, didn't need to fear Jason. Furthermore, Grace had seen how Brian treated his ex-girlfriends. Perhaps sentimental men were the cruelest. She didn't believe Evelyn would be his last girlfriend.
"I came here only for the relocation of my mother's grave! Give me the relocation documents and household registration. I'll move her grave myself," Grace said. Her household registration was still with her family, but if she moved, she didn't know where to register it. She owned no property in Emerald City and couldn't register with the Sanitation Service Center's collective registration. Her grandmother's registrationher uncle and others would likely think she was trying to claim the relocation money and refuse.
Suddenly, Grace felt isolated, without a place to call home.
