Chapter 302

Grace quickly fastened her seatbelt and watched with wonder as Jason drove away from the Reed Residence. He headed in the direction of Hadwin Stephenson's supposed location. Was he taking her there?

His face was livid. His thin lips were pressed together, and his dark, hazy eyes betrayed his displeasure. Grace opened her mouth to speak, but feared further annoying him. Silence prevailed.

The most important thing was seeing Lina and learning what was happening. "Then I'll wait for Jason's anger to subside before thanking him," Grace thought.

Their car reached Crescent Bay, where security stopped them. "Tell Hadwin Stephenson Jason wants to see him. Ask if he'll meet us," Jason said curtly. Even if the guards didn't recognize Jason, the Bentley—a nearly ten-million-dollar car—was unmistakable to car enthusiasts. A guard contacted his captain.

Meanwhile, at the Crescent Bay mansion, Lina Sweeney anxiously stared at the man before her. He had forcibly dragged her into his car in broad daylight, confiscating and turning off her phone. She imagined her best friend's anxiety, but couldn't call Grace. Her parents might also be trying to reach her, and a switched-off phone would only worsen their worry. She felt frantic as he seemed to enjoy her panic.

Seeing his expression, Lina's heart ached. He didn't look at her like that before. He had been like a cute puppy, shyly smiling, scratching his head, and tugging at her clothes—an innocent child.

Now, after more than three years, he was almost unrecognizable. Though his God-given features remained, his aura had completely changed. He was no longer a cute puppy, but a big bad wolf!

"Can I have my phone back? I need to call my friend and my parents," Lina repeated.
