“Fine, let’s date,” Lina Sweeney said with resignation. Since she was about to be avenged upon, she should at least be mentally prepared. “Then you… uh, you can give me my phone back now.”

She hadn’t forgotten that her primary reason for following him to the mansion was to retrieve her phone.

He stared at her for a moment, then threw the phone, which lay on the coffee table, back to her.

“Ah!” she exclaimed, catching it just in time. The phone cost her $10,000; she had bought it through gritted teeth. If it hit the ground and cracked, repairs would cost over $2,000.

The thought pained her. She dared not ask him to pay if it broke.

Lina Sweeney turned on her phone and checked the time. It was past nine o’clock, and several missed calls showed—all from her parents. She immediately returned their calls.

Her father’s angry shout came through. “Couldn’t you call if you weren’t coming home for dinner? You weren’t even answering your phone. What…”

Lina Sweeney was sweating profusely. “I… I got tied up. I’ll be right back.”

She quickly hung up and looked at Hadwin Stephenson, who had approached. Her father’s loud voice likely carried to him.

“Well, if there’s nothing else, I should go,” Lina Sweeney said weakly.

“I’ll take you home,” Hadwin Stephenson said.

Lina Sweeney quickly replied, “It’s alright. I’ll take a taxi. Besides, I need to pick up my car from the parking lot.”

However, he grabbed her wrist and said firmly, “I’ll take you. We’re in a relationship now.”

Lina Sweeney was speechless. Fine, he could take her if he wished. She stopped arguing and obediently followed him out of the mansion.

“Your car keys,” Hadwin Stephenson said.

Lina Sweeney, looking confused, obediently retrieved her keys and handed them to him. He gave them to the driver, instructing him to retrieve Lina Sweeney’s car from where she’d parked it the previous day.

“Yes,” the driver replied and left.

Hadwin Stephenson then got into the driver’s seat and looked at Lina Sweeney, who stood dumbfounded beside the car. “Get in,” he said coldly.

“Oh.” Lina Sweeney snapped back to attention and hurriedly got in.

Hadwin Stephenson drove in silence, ignoring Lina Sweeney.

With nothing to do, Lina Sweeney opened her phone, determined to set a new password. She felt he had seen much of its contents.
