Chapter 329
After Grace entered the building with her trolley, the receptionist greeted her, asking only for her name. She didn't even ask Grace to register and offered to help her with the elevator.
This led Grace to suspect something. When she arrived at the delivery address, a tall woman in a business suit approached her. "Miss Cummins? I ordered the food. You can leave these here, and please take these two to the president's office."
Grace's suspicions were confirmed. The president's officeโฆ Jason was the president of Reed Group. Were these two lunches for Jason?
Grace picked up two containers and walked toward Jason's office. Standing before the dark wooden door, she took a deep breath before knocking twice.
"Come in," a voice called from inside.
Grace opened the door and entered, finding Jason seated at his desk, reviewing papers.
"I'll leave your order on the coffee table," Grace said as he stood and walked around the desk toward her.
"I have to go back to the restaurant and deliver the other orders," she added.
"Have you had lunch?" he asked unexpectedly.
She blinked, momentarily stunned.
"It seems you haven't eaten. Then you can eat with me. I'd like to try the food from your restaurant, Sis," he said, grabbing her and pushing her onto the sofa.
She instinctively tried to stand, but his grip on her shoulders prevented her.
"Youโฆ" she glared at him.
"Why? You don't want to dine with me?" he asked with a smile.
"I'm really in a hurry," she replied.
"Is that so?" Danger flickered in his eyes. "In that case, I might as well return all of this."
Grace was shocked. She realized the man before her was Jason! How could someone like Jason accept rejection so easily? Returning the food would cause Kyla significant losses. Kyla's small restaurant might even fail if he retaliated by canceling the order.
"Just one meal?" she asked, regaining her composure.
Jason smiled. "What else is there to do?"
He removed his hands from her shoulders and opened the food containers on the coffee table. His long fingers, well-defined joints, and even the shape of his nails were striking. Even the simple act of removing a plastic bag highlighted the beauty and elegance of his hands.
He took out two lunch boxes and helped her open a pair of disposable chopsticks before handing them to her.
