Chapter 365

Does Young Master Reed want Miss Cummins to like him? Terrence knew the answer but couldn't hide his surprise. Since when did Young Master Reed care about a woman's opinion?

"Miss Cummins suffered greatly," Terrence analyzed for Jason. "She's perceptive. A forceful approach might make her comply superficially, but she'll distance herself. She prefers a gentler approach. Try humility; it might break down her defenses."

"So, she'll only like me if I fawn over her?" Jason muttered.

Terrence blinked, shocked. He hadn't suggested fawning; merely humility. If Young Master Reed did want to fawn what kind of woman?

"How should I fawn over her, then?" Jason asked.

Terrence felt a lump in his throat. Did Jason genuinely want to fawn over Grace?

His phone rang. Identifying the caller, he answered immediately. Hanging up, he told Jason, "Young Master Reed, someone's investigating Jennifer Atkinson's case."

Jason's eyes darkened. "Who?"

"We don't know," Terrence replied, "but people are gathering information from that year, searching for witnesses. A witness in S City is being followed."

"Mr. You?" Jason frowned.

"Yes, but not by Lina Sweeney's investigator," Terrence said. He knew about Sweeney's investigationโ€”he'd provided the evidence. He hadn't expected others to be investigating. Their identities remained unknown.

Jason lowered his eyelids, tapping his fingers on his desk. After a moment, he said, "Hadwin Stephenson."

"What?" Terrence was astonished.

"Investigate Hadwin Stephenson. He might be behind this."

"Hadwin Stephenson? From the Stephenson Group?" Terrence was baffled by the connection.

"Yes," Jason confirmed. "If anyone could avoid my tracking, it's him." If Stephenson was investigating, it was likely because of Lina Sweeney.

Jason rubbed his temples. He'd underestimated Sweeney. If Stephenson uncovered something, a confrontation would be inevitable.

Lina Sweeney looked at Hadwin Stephenson helplessly. "You really want to meet my parents?"

"Didn't you say they wanted to meet me?" Hadwin Stephenson asked languidly.
