Chapter 446
She was shocked, then a blush crept across her face. "I… I…" Grace was suddenly speechless. Answering yes or no seemed equally wrong.
"You can't say no!" Jason bossily put his hand around her waist. "If I have children, it will only be with you, Sis. So, if you want to be a mother, you can only be the mother of my children."
Grace's face flushed crimson. "This is a hospital," she whispered. People were still moving about, and several were already looking their way.
"So what?" His lips brushed her ear, his breath warm on her neck. "Do you understand what I just said, Sis?"
Her body trembled. His voice and breath felt like a spell, enchanting her into a nod.
After they got into the car, Grace's face was still red. Jason drove, and she couldn't help glancing at him from the passenger seat. His side profile—sharp outlines, deep-set eyes, and a tall, straight nose—was strikingly handsome, more defined than the average Asian man. His features, jawline, and neck were exquisite.
If they had children, what would they look like? The thought instantly filled her mind.
"Do you like looking at me that much?" Jason's voice startled her, breaking her reverie.
"Ah!" She realized she'd been staring. Embarrassed and flustered, she was saved by the ringing of her phone. It was Lina Sweeney, her best friend.
She answered. "Is it convenient to talk, Grace?" Lina asked.
"Yes," Grace replied, relieved. She was grateful for the interruption.
"When are you free? Let's go to S City. We need to hurry; the witness is in custody. Hadwin Stephenson thinks he can get him to talk and asked if you want to be involved," Lina said.
Grace was stunned. "Hadwin Stephenson? You told him I wanted to overturn my case?"
"Hehe… Well… I thought he had better connections, so I asked him to help investigate 'You Guy' to see if he could find clues. I'm sorry I forgot to tell you," Lina admitted.
"You don't need to apologize. You're helping me," Grace said. She didn't trust Hadwin Stephenson, but appreciated Lina's effort.
"When are you free? I'll schedule something with Hadwin, but we need to hurry. 'You Guy' is only detained for seven days," Lina said.
"Tomorrow," Grace said.
"Tomorrow? Don't you work?" Lina asked, remembering Grace's Saturday afternoon schedule.
"The restaurant's closed this weekend, so I'm free. What about you?" Grace asked.
"I'm free," Lina replied. "Tomorrow, then. I'll pick you up. I'll let Hadwin know and get back to you with a time."
